Fast Fountain is a compact, black, circle-shaped fountain that's solar-powered. It's specified that you can place this fountain in any container of water outdoors—including one as big as a pool or as small as a flowerpot—and sunlight will make water shoot out of its center. This fountain has been designed to float freely if that's a user's preference, but it also has suction feet that will enable you to attach it to a flat surface.

How to Use (Step by Step)

  1. Pick a Body of Water

Prior to using your Fast Fountain, you'll need to pick a body of water to place it in. You could use a plastic tub, a flowerpot, a kiddie pool, or even a full-sized pool for adults as your desired location. As long as the location is full of water, it'll be suitable. Keep in mind that the sunnier the location is, though, the better, and this fountain will not work in the dark.

  2. Place Fountain in Water

Next, once you've chosen a location, place your fountain in the water with the spigot facing upward. You can either let the fountain float along independently or use the suction feet on its bottom to attach it to the bottom of the water container it's in. The second option will likely work better if you're using a small, shallow container of water instead of a large pool.

  3. Watch Waterfall Flow Out

Once your fountain is in place, if there's an adequate amount of sunlight, water will immediately begin pouring upward out of its spigot in an attractive waterfall. If you've attached the fountain to a surface with its suction feet, but it's too far underwater for you to see the whole waterfall, consider detaching the feet and letting it float.

  4. Remove and Store

When you're done using your fountain, remove it from the container of water it's lying in. Its waterfall will come to a halt automatically when it's not exposed to enough sunlight or water for it to keep going. It's best to store your fountain indoors, in a place that's cool and dry, until you want to use it again.

How It Works

The waterfall that comes out of each Fast Fountain needs both sunlight and water to operate. You'll be taking care of the water part by letting the fountain sit in some sort of container that's filled with water, and the sun's rays will cause the water to flow through the spigot. If you lose a great deal of sunlight or remove the fountain from its water source, it logically follows that it'll stop operating in this manner. Giving the fountain as much sunlight as possible, instead of just a bit, will likely lead to a more powerful waterfall for your viewing pleasure.

Features

  • Lightweight and Portable

This fountain is about the size of a Frisbee, so most users will be able to carry it from place to place comfortably in one hand. If you've got a backyard pond and a pool, along with some flower pots you can fill, you may want to transfer it from location to location, depending on where you'll be hanging out. Transporting this fountain in your vehicle shouldn't be a huge challenge, either, since it'll only take up about a foot of space in your trunk or backseat.

  • Quiet

Although the Fast Fountain produces a peaceful display of water that you can hear, it can still be considered quiet. It's quiet enough that you should be able to read, have conversations, or do other quiet activities nearby without being distracted by its noise. However, it does make just enough noise to partially drown out the sound of cars driving by or the neighbor's dog yapping.

  • No Electricity, Batteries

Due to the fact that this type of fountain is solar-powered, you won't have to worry about adding batteries to it, recharging a built-in battery, or plugging the fountain into electricity. The fact that it doesn't require an extension cord means that you can use it in almost any outdoor location, as long as you've got water and sun available.

  • Sets of Different Sizes

You'll be able to get one fountain on its own, but these fountains also come in sets of two, three, and six fountains. If you get a couple, you might want to use one at home and the other at the cottage. Meanwhile, a large set of six might come in handy if you want to have mini-waterfalls floating throughout your whole in-ground swimming pool.

Positive Points

  • Attracts Animals

The Fast Fountain attracts butterflies, along with hummingbirds who want to have a drink, and many dogs may also find that taking a drink out of one is enjoyable. Similarly, if you have a cat, they may want to drink from it instead of going inside to sip from their water bowl.

  • Soothing for People

If you're under stress, just sitting beside one of these fountains for an hour or so might make you feel better. Looking at the motion of the water coming out of the spigot can be soothing in itself, and its quiet but audible sound only adds to its ability to soothe a person's nerves. People who teach yoga or meditation, or practice either of these relaxing activities outside with friends and family, may find it useful to set one of these fountains up while doing so.

Negative Points

  • May Not Work Indoors

The Fast Fountain certainly won't work when it's dark outside, and it probably won't work very well indoors, unless you place it next to a window with lots of sunlight streaming in. Even if you do that, it likely won't function as effectively as it would outdoors, when exposed to direct sunlight. Therefore, if you're looking for a decorative fountain for your living room or dining room, it'll be better for you to go with a fountain of another type.

  • Requires Lots of Water

Every time you want to use this fountain, you'll have to fill some type of container up with water in order for the fountain to work properly. If you've got a pool that's already full, this may not be a big deal, but if you're trying to conserve water for any reason, you may feel like you're wasting it. Plus, if you're in a location where you can't find enough water, or you don't have a container, you won't be able to make use of the fountain at all.

Critical Advice

It's probable that most users will decide to place their fountain in a container of cool or cold water, on a balmy summer's day, but placing the fountain in warm water is also an option. Piping hot water should not be used, though, as there's a chance that it could damage the fountain's materials in some way.
