FastBall Magnetic Mount Video Review

Total Cost Breakdown

The cost of FastBall Phone Holder is $14.99 plus $4.99 shipping, for a total price of $19.98.

Price is from As Seen on TV Commercial page: BulbHead.com

How to Use (Step by Step)

  1. Mount Stainless Steel Ball

First, you'll need to mount your ball wherever you want your tablet or phone to rest. Since its backing is sticky, the surface you mount it to won't need to be magnetic for it to stick. Aside from your car's dashboard, you may want to mount it to a piece of furniture or even a wall.

  2. Attach Magnetic Disc

Next, attach one side of the included magnetic disc to the back of your phone or tablet and the other side to your mounted stainless steel ball. This will attach your digital device securely to the ball so it won't slide off and fall to the ground. This disc and digital device together can also swivel and tilt while attached to the ball, so you can view your device's screen at an ideal angle.

  3. Enjoy Your Device Hands-free

After you've adjusted your device so it's resting at an angle you prefer, you'll be able to enjoy streaming music, watching a movie, looking at maps or doing whatever you'd like with it. You'll also be able to keep your hands free for driving, eating, taking notes and a variety of other common tasks, as you'll never have to worry about holding your device up. Whenever you feel like you need to change the angle, just give it a gentle push with one hand.

Wish Magnetic Ball Compared to FastBall Phone Holder

How It Works

The ball and socket is the name of a stable, swiveling joint found underneath the armpit in the human body. The FastBall Phone Holder and its attached disc have actually been designed to mimic the action of this joint, which means the ball and disc will stay stable while possessing the ability to rotate. These two attributes are what keeps your phone or tablet resting securely on the ball while tipping or rotating to your angle of choice.

Features

  • Quickly Releases Device

No matter the shape or size of the device you've attached to your magnetic mount, the mount will release the device in just a second once you give it a gentle tug. It won't hang on stubbornly to the device when you need to pick it up for any reason.

  • Durable Ball

The ball within each of these mounts is made of stainless steel, which makes it much more durable than a ball made of plastic, rubber or any other weaker material commonly used to make balls. Even if you happen to drop it on the ground, it likely won't break or even get damaged. For this reason, you may be able to use one of these mounts for your phone or tablet for years without replacing it.

  • Withstands Bumps

Not only is the ball within each Fast Ball Phone Holder durable, the whole mount will also allow your phone or tablet to withstand bumps. If you're using it while driving, riding on a motorcycle or biking and your vehicle hits a large bump, your phone or tablet will stay securely attached to the vehicle as you go over it.

  • Portrait or Landscape View

As you'll be able to swivel your phone or tablet in a complete circle of 360 degrees while it's attached to this mount, you'll be able to see it in portrait or landscape orientation. While people tend to look at their phones vertically (portrait orientation), sometimes landscape orientation is more useful, such as when you're trying to read road maps or watch a video on a small screen.

Positive Points

  • Helps Prevent Accidents

If you've got your cell phone resting between your seats or on your dashboard, it may fall down and get under your feet or land in your lap. This could end up interfering with your pedal or steering wheel operation, and cause you to get in an accident. Fortunately, once you mount your phone on your dashboard or elsewhere with your FastBall Phone Holder, the chances of this happening are slim to none. Due to the mount's magnetic power, your phone will be nearly locked onto the ball and extremely unlikely to fall.

  • Keeps Kids Busy

Whether you're at home or in a vehicle, you'll be able to keep one, two or even a group of kids busy by mounting a tablet and playing a video or some music for them. If you're at home, you may want to stick your mount to a table and set up the tablet there. If you happen to be in the car with the kids in the backseat, simply stick your mount (and tablet) to the back of one of the front seats.

  • Allows for Chatting in Car

While in most areas, it's against the law to hold onto one's phone and talk in the car, you'll be able to carry on audio conversations in the car by using one of these mounts. Just mount it on your dashboard or somewhere else convenient that doesn't obstruct your view of the road, and chat away with a friend, family member or business associate. You'll even be able to have video conversations with others in the car, although you might want to pull over to do that, so the screen doesn't take your attention away from the road.

  • Useful in Kitchen

Although many people still use printed recipe books, you may be one who likes to look up recipes online or follow step-by-step video tutorials while cooking. Mounting a tablet or phone to your refrigerator or a kitchen cupboard will enable you to see this information clearly with your hands remaining free for the actual cooking.

Negative Points

  • Only for Phones, Tablets

Some plastic or wooden mounts or stands will hold onto print books and sheets of paper, too, but not this one. It uses only the power of magnetism to hold onto a tablet or phone, and as most people realize, no piece of paper is magnetic.

Save Money

If you currently use or plan on using suction cup mounts in order to hold your cell phone at eye level as you drive, you'll likely find that you need to replace them regularly. Their suctioning power doesn't last very long, and after a few weeks or months, you may find your phone falling to the floor. That's not the case with the FastBall Phone Holder, though. Its base will retain its stickiness over a longer period of time, and won't need to be replaced as often, even if you move your mount around frequently.

True 💕

I love fastball! I highly recommend it! I have a question, I have to remove one and put it in another place on the wall and I do not know the best way to remove the fastball without hurting my wallpaper. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Magnet Issue

I like the innovativeness of the product it works great the tape works well when sticking it in my car the only complaint I have is they should have put the magnet on the ball part of the product rather than the socket because the magnetic socket can cause interference with some smartphones and their screens I have a Galaxy Note 5 and because of the magnet my S Pen will not work around where the magnetic field from the socket on the back of the phone is I would recommend that the people who made the product should put the magnet part on the ball joint rather than the socket.

I bought a fastball and I love it. It really stuck to my dash well and holds my phone perfectly. I installed it and let it sit overnight, but I have NO complaints what so ever. Love it!

Anatomy 101

Marketers need to take an anatomy class. They claim it's based on the human ball and socket joint, saying it's the most stable joint in the body. Anyone who had anatomy class in high school knows that the ball n socket joint is the LEAST stable joint in the body. Speaks volume about their product.

Fastball Cellphone Holder

Piece of crap! It's been sitting in my car since I bought it 2 days ago because I need to purchase a better quality double sided tape to install it. The tape they give you in the packaging is worthless! You would after spending this much money that they would give you a fair product in return. Not! The base will not stick anywhere on my dash because the tape they give is so cheap that it doesn't stick anywhere. So go spend more money and find a quality double sided tape and get the job done right. What a waste of time.

For me the provided double stick tape worked just fine. I followed the instructions for the installation. Which requires cleaning both the dash surface and the device surface BEFORE installing this product. You can't blame the product if you don't use common sense and follow directions.

Fast Ball

I have tried so many gadgets and mounts to try to stick my GPS System onto the dashboard of my car and none of them would hold it. Finally, after almost giving up I found Fast Ball. It holds my GPS in place and I don't have to worry about the vibration of the car knocking it off. It's solid and I love it. I would recommend this product. The one thing that I would recommend is to glue the sticky side to the dashboard first and leave it overnight before attaching your phone, tablet or cell phone. Well worth the money I spent.

FYI - Will Wipe out Your Credit Card mag Stripe

I had a similar product a while ago. If you carry your phone (with the magnet attached to the back) and your wallet near each other the magnet will destroy the magnetic stripe on your credit cards. Maybe not a big deal if all of your card transactions use the chip, but if you ever need to swipe your card, it won't work. Had to order new debit cards.

Stick the gluey side of the ball onto your dashboard and leave it overnight before attaching your phone to it. It will definitely hold it.

I stuck the "sticky Ball" on my dash overnight and just let it sit without attaching anything to it, and hold it holds without a problem. The next day I stuck my GPS device on it and it holds very well.

FastBall Phone Mount

Ordered the phone mount it ended up costing $29.00 for 2 two weeks later it still hasn’t came in. While in Walmart standing in line I found them on a shelf for 9.95 ea. So I bought 2 got home and started installing then in my trucks. It was just about impossible to find a spot where the mount would stick after I finally found a place the phone flops around everywhere kinda sucks. Then to top that off I’ve got this other thing stuck to the back of my phone cover now I can’t change my phone on my wireless charger.

I'm just curious as to whether or not this magnetic ball will demagnetize a phone or tablet when it's mounted to it?

There is nothing in the electronics that are effected. The old saying about using a magnet on a hard drive was wrong anyway.

Magnet vs Computer

Why would you risk your expensive phone with a powerful magnet? Couldn't that scramble the device and all it's information.

Stainless Steel Ball

Stainless steel is non-magnet, so how can a piece of steel attach to something that is non-magnet.

Stainless steel can be magnetic depending on how much steel is in the stainless steel. That is why steel is in the make-up part of stainless steel.
