Earthquake Mug is a 16-ounce travel-style mug that won't spill, even when you tip it. It comes in five different shades, including silver ( which is made with stainless steel ), black, blue, purple, and red. It'll fit into the cup holder of any vehicle, and you can use it at home, at school, at the office or anywhere else, too. When you sip from it, the drip collar on the lid will catch any drips, so you'll be unlikely to dribble any liquid on your clothing, furniture, or carseats. You can use the mug for both hot and cold drinks, such as your morning coffee or your lunchtime lemonade.

The Claim

Anyone who uses the Earthquake Mug will be able to enjoy virtually any drink without spilling it. If you or someone else accidentally hits it from the side, the air-lock technology it's been made with will prevent it from falling over. However, it won't be hard to lift straight up when you need to take a drink. If you choose to use it on a daily basis, you'll no longer need to worry about spilling your drinks on important paperwork, your favorite reading material, or anything else that you want to preserve. Plus, each Earthquake Mug will preserve the taste of your hot and cold drinks, due to its double-wall insulation.

Total Cost Breakdown

The cost of Earthquake Mug is $10.00 plus $6.99 shipping. The special TV offer allows you to receive a second Earthquake Mug by paying the extra shipping fee of $6.99 for a total price of $23.98. This price was obtained from the As Seen on TV commercial page which was taken offline due to Earthquake Mug being discontinued. Earthquake Mug may still be found for sale on Amazon or Ebay.

How It Works

The Earthquake Mug is made with airlock technology. When the mug is hit from the side, this technology enables an airlock, which makes the mug grip the surface it's sitting on tightly, to be created. Hence, it won't tip over and spill. On the other hand, if the mug is lifted straight up, its grip on its surface will immediately be released, so you'll be able to securely move it or drink the beverage within it.

  • Five Shades Available

This mug comes in red, blue, purple, black, and silver, so you can choose the shade you like best or get more than one to use on different days. If every member of your household wants to get one, you may want to select different shades so you won't run the risk of getting them mixed up when you're in a rush.

  • Drip Collar

Each mug has a drip collar that will collect any drips as you drink a beverage from it. Due to this collar, you likely won't end up showing up at work with coffee on your blouse or tie, or accidentally decorating your couch with spots of orange juice.

  • Convenient Size

The Earthquake Mug will hold 16 ounces of liquid, but it's still small enough for virtually any user to carry without difficulty. Plus, it's the right size to fit comfortably into any vehicle's cup holder, if you take it on the road.

  • Double-wall Insulation

These mugs all have double-wall insulation, which add to their durability and make them more able to preserve the temperature of a hot or cold drink over a few hours' time.

Positive Points

  • Made of Bpa-free Plastic

The plastic used to make each Earthquake Mug is free of the potentially harmful chemical bpa, which is found within some products made of plastic.

  • Ideal When Eating Off Tray

The Earthquake Mug will grip any flat surface, including a tray at a cafeteria or fast food place. If you don't want to run the risk of spilling your drink, you can ask a server to put your beverage in one of these mugs instead of in a paper cup. Even if you tip your tray a bit, the mug's airlock technology will make it impossible for the mug to budge.

  • Good for Kids

As they often have inferior hand-eye coordination in comparison to adults, children tend to spill their drinks more often. Therefore, an Earthquake Mug is a great container for a child to drink out of, especially if they're riding in a bumpy vehicle such as a parent's car or a school bus.

  • Helps Preserve Important Items

When drinks are spilled, important items such as office work, homework, digital devices, and valuable furniture sometimes end up being the casualties, but using your Earthquake Mug will help prevent these accidents. Since you'll know that this mug won't spill, you'll be able to comfortably drink your choice of beverage next to your laptop or while sitting on an antique chair, without worrying about damage.

Negative Aspects

  • Brand Name Across Front

"Earth Quake" is emblazoned across the top front of each of these mugs, which some users may find tacky or irritating. However, the words could be covered by a sticker.

I Recommend Buying it!

Great Mug

I don't know what everyone's complaints are about because I love this mug, it does fit in cup holders in every car I've been in, it does not spill at all even when I tip it upside down, and it does keep things hot or cold for hours.

I Regret Buying it!

Waste of Money

For me the drip collar is too deep, and I found it difficult to drink out of.

The cup is heavy & way too big for the holders in either of my vehicles.

Only keeps coffee hot for a few minutes.

The one positive, is that it didn't tip while on a flat surface. However, because it wouldn't fit in the cup holders in either of my vehicles, I had to put it on the console, and even though the dash is flat ( 1 plastic, 1 steel ), the cup tipped when I turned corners.

I Regret Buying it!

I've had one for about a month. It was great in the warehouse because I could sit it on machinery and drive away confident that it would remain in place. To a point. Yesterday my Earthquake Mug fell off a forklift and hit the ground and exploded ( empty, the suction cup doesn't work as well as it does with a full cup ). Nothing was broken, but various pieces came off. Once I put them all back together again ( perhaps something is missing? ) it no longer works and due to its shape it has become particularly unstable. The long and short of it is that I'm reasonably satisfied with this product, but dismayed by its fragility.

I Don't Recommend

This is very difficult to handle in terms of holding and manipulating the lid. The earthquake did a lot of damage in my opinion doesn't work very well at all.
Bed bath has one that is so much better as seone already pointed out.

Not Sure What the Bargain Is

I ordered it on the phone, it takes forever to try and get through the prompts and they try very hard to get you to purchase other products and upgrade etc. Then I read a review that said just go to Bed Bath and Beyond, sure enough there it was. I think its made by a different company but virtually the same thing, and it was ultimately cheaper.

Too Big

Too big and heavy. They sell the same product at Bed Bath and Beyound that's lighter and seems to work better. I tried to return this one but it's very difficult to do.
