Dependalite is a flashlight that makes use of battery-saving technology so your batteries will last longer than they would in a standard flashlight. This black flashlight also contains LED lights, which tend to last longer than other lights of a similar size. When turned on, Dependalite will be two times brighter than most flashlights that are built into cell phones, and won't use any energy from the batteries within when turned off. You can use a flashlight like this in your home, in your car or virtually anywhere else.
The cost of Dependalite is $19.99 plus $7.99 shipping, for a total price of $27.98. Price is from As Seen on TV Commercial page: buydependalite.com
When you install batteries in a standard flashlight, they'll normally connect immediately, which will start to drain them—even if you're not using the flashlight at that time. However, when you insert the same type of batteries into a Dependalite, the batteries will not connect until you've changed the power switch from "Off" to "On. " Therefore, they won't start draining at all until you've actually lit up your flashlight for use. Once you flip the switch to "Off" again, they'll immediately disconnect and stop draining, too, which'll save you lots of power over time.
While some flashlights of a similar size take four batteries, you'll only need two AA batteries in order to run this one. Due to the flashlight's power-saving capabilities, you may only need to replace these once a year or less, depending on how often you use the flashlight.
This flashlight is cylindrical in shape and fairly compact, so you'll be able to fit it in most drawers, glove compartments and emergency kits. Most users also won't find it a struggle to carry, if need be.
Even though it won't use as much battery power over any given number of months or years, this flashlight is much brighter than many others out there, especially the ones built into cell phones.
If you leave batteries in a standard flashlight for a long time without using the light, you may find that when you do go to use it, the batteries have corroded or have even exploded. Fortunately, since your Dependalite will keep its batteries' power inactive when the switch is turned to "Off," there's almost no chance that corrosion or explosion will occur within this light. The only way these problems could occur is if you happened to leave the flashlight on by mistake.
Another common occurrence is when someone goes to grab a flashlight that's been stored for weeks, months or years, and finds that the batteries have burned out. Once again, however, as your Dependalite's batteries won't be active when it's not powered "On," this won't happen to you. Instead, your batteries will be ready and waiting to become active whenever you want to use your flashlight.
When in need of light while on the road in a car or some other vehicle, many people opt to light up their cell phone's built-in flashlight. This will drain your cell phone's battery, though, and leave you with no way to text or call others in case of emergency. If you bring along a Dependalite and use that for illumination instead, you'll be able to see clearly in the dark and keep the lines of communication open at the same time.
This flashlight only gives off steady white light, without offering any other modes to switch to, such as different-colored light or blinking light. The option to give off flashing light, especially, could be helpful in an emergency.
The Dependalite also contains no strap with which you would be able to attach the light to your head or body, which is something else that could be helpful in an emergency. It could even be beneficial in non-emergency situations, such as if someone were to use the flashlight while jogging at night.
