Dancing Flame Lantern

The Dancing Flame Lantern is a hand-held lantern with an LED light inside that's been designed to look like a flickering flame. This lantern appears to be suitable for use in any room indoors, and since it doesn't require electricity to operate, you'll be able to use it almost anywhere outdoors, too. Its soothing yellow flickering light may be able to calm you down if you're feeling stressed after a hard day. Each lantern also has a built-in emergency feature that'll provide you with blue light when the power's out.

How to Use (Step by Step)

  1. Make Sure Batteries Are Inside

Before you use your Dancing Flame Lantern, you'll have to make sure an appropriate set of batteries is inserted inside it. It's not stated anywhere that batteries are included with each lantern, so you'll likely have to provide your first set and any sets you need later yourself.

  2. Pull Up Top

To use your lantern, once you've checked out the battery situation, pull gently on the top and the yellow LED bulb will reveal itself. It'll automatically light up with no further action from you. Once it's lit up, you'll be able to place your lantern on a flat surface or use one or both handles to hang it from a hook or carry it with you.

  3. Push Down to Turn Off

When you want to turn your lantern's bulb off, gently push down on the top of the lantern, and the bulb will shut itself off and disappear into the base. It'll remain there until you want to pull it out and use it again.

Features

  • Protective Casing

The LED bulb within each lantern is shielded in protective (yet transparent) casing, which means you'll always be able to see the bulb when it's pulled out, but it'll be unlikely to get damaged. You won't need to worry about burning your fingers, either, since the outside of each lantern will always stay cool.

  • Long-Lasting Light

If the bulb inside each Dancing Flame Lantern happened to be one of another type, it would probably burn out more quickly, but since it's an LED light, it may last you for years. These lights are known for being able to stay on for tens of thousands of hours without burning out completely.

  • Two Handles

Each of these lanterns has two slim handles that you'll be able to use to carry the lantern from place to place, when necessary. If you have a hook handy in a particular location, you'll also be able to use one or two of the handles to hang your lantern from that hook, if you'd like. The handles look as if they're made of metal, so if that's the case, they'll be unlikely to ever break off.

  • Yellow and Blue Light

On its standard setting, one of these lanterns will offer you a flickering yellow glow that many people may find more soothing and relaxing than bright white light. However, each lantern will still provide you with enough light to read or see other things in the environment around you clearly. In an emergency situation, such as a power outage, you'll be able to access your lantern's additional blue light setting, but you'll need to consult your instruction manual to find out how.

  • Cordless

Since this lantern is battery-operated, you'll never have to find an electrical outlet to plug it in to, and that means you'll be able to use it virtually anywhere, both indoors and out. You may want to keep one in your glove compartment in case you have car trouble at night, and it'll also come in handy when you want to keep yourself safe while walking at night.

Positive Points

  • No Real Flames, Matches

When you're using your Dancing Flame Lantern, you can rest assured that no matches will be needed and no real flames will be involved. This lantern will give you light that looks almost exactly like a flame, but without the safety risk that comes with lighting a real one. Therefore, you can allow any children under your care to use it without being concerned that they'll burn themselves on a flame that may be difficult to control. You also won't need to worry about something in your home accidentally catching on fire due to a wayward lantern flame.

  • Makes A Good Night Light

If you don't want to sleep in the pitch dark, but you don't have any other night lights, placing one of these lanterns by your bed may meet your illumination needs. It'll give you enough light to stop you from stumbling around in blackness, but the light won't be so bright that it'll blind you if you wake unexpectedly in the middle of the night. A child may also have fun using one of these lanterns as a night light since they'll be able to imagine they're camping—just another activity one of these lanterns is suitable for.

  • Has Festive Look

Aside from using it as a night light, you may want to use your Dancing Flame Lantern as a holiday decoration on Christmas, Hanukkah, New Year's or some other holiday. It has a bit of a festive look, especially in regard to winter holidays, and will serve as a good alternative to an electric fireplace or one that you'd have to keep filling with wood.

  • Can Be Used By Water

Although you shouldn't purposely dunk one of these lanterns in water, it's safe to use one around or beside water, due to each one's protective casing. In fact, you may want to use one beside the lake, your pool or even your bathtub to create a relaxing or festive atmosphere. If it ever does happen to fall in the water, just pull it out as quickly as possible and dry it off.

Negative Points

  • No USB Charging Option

Not only do these lanterns appear not to come with batteries, but you can't plug one into your computer and charge it, either. These days, many light-up devices and other devices for at-home use come with a USB cable you can use to charge them, but unfortunately, this one doesn't. As a result, if you run out of batteries, you won't be able to use your lantern until you can get to the store or order some online.

Tips & Tricks

  1. Place Several Along Walkway

If your driveway or walkway tends to get eerily dark at night, causing people to trip, you may want to obtain several of these lanterns and place them strategically along the path. This will help keep everyone safe and will probably make your yard look much more attractive at the same time.

  2. Arrange Around Pool

Another place people tend to trip is around an outdoor pool, especially when getting out. Fortunately, to help prevent this, you'll be able to place several Dancing Flame Lanterns around your pool, in a similar way to how you'd place them along a walkway. This option will be especially beneficial if you have outdoor pool parties at night, and if you don't want to keep the lanterns outdoors, they can be brought in at the end of each party.
