The Crimpwich is a round kitchen tool that will cut the crusts off a sandwich made with ordinary bread to create a crust-less pocket sandwich that's sealed all the way around. Besides ordinary bread, you'll also be able to use it with buns and tortillas, creating pocket sandwiches that are either round or half-moon shaped. It can be used with sandwiches that contain any ingredients, and it'll keep the ingredients contained within each sandwich to help prevent messes.
The cost of Crimp Wich is $19.99 plus $5.99 shipping, for a total price of $25.98. Price is from As Seen on TV Commercial page: crimpwich.com
Before you use the Crimp Wich, place any sandwich made with any type of bread on a cutting board. This tool actually comes with a cutting board, but you can use any cutting board you'd like.
Once you've got a sandwich ready, grab either your regular or extra-large Crimp Wich, depending on the sandwich. Place the tool on the sandwich, press down, and turn the tool once to the left and once to the right, making at least a half-circle each way.
After you're done rotating your device, lift it up and you should see a round, sealed sandwich sitting on your cutting board. If not, repeat the step above once more. You can store any completed sandwich in the fridge or freezer, pack it in a lunch bag, or simply eat it on the spot.
In each Crimp Wich set, you'll get both a regular and extra-large one, so you can pick and choose which one to use depending on the size of your original sandwich.
Either size of tool is safe to be washed in the dishwasher, so if you have a dishwasher, you'll never need to wash one of these tools by hand. However, if one doesn't look dirty after just a single use, you can simply rinse it off in the sink without scrubbing.
Besides a cutting board, you'll get a recipe book with your set of sandwich-enhancing tools. This book contains 101 different recipes that you can make with either the regular or extra-large device.
If you're using the regular-sized tool, you'll be able to make twelve pocket sandwiches with one standard loaf of bread from the grocery store. That'll be enough for at least six lunches, assuming that a person will eat one or two sandwiches at each midday meal.
It's difficult to toast an ordinary sandwich, as the ingredients may leak out in the toaster, making a mess of it and possibly even burning in there, creating a foul smell. Fortunately, you can plop any sealed-off pocket sandwich you create with a Crimp Wich in a regular toaster without much risk of ingredients leaking.
On a related note, the fact that these pocket sandwiches are closed off will help anyone eat without making a mess. You'll be able to take a bite without ingredients squirting out all over your plate or onto the table, consequently going to waste instead of going into your tummy.
Neither the regular-sized nor the extra-large cutting tool found in one of these sets has incredibly sharp blades, so both are safe for older children to use with adult supervision. Instead of demanding that a parent cut the crusts off a sandwich, a child can have fun removing them on their own!
No one will need any sort of batteries or electricity to operate one of these tools, as they're completely hand-powered.
To make pocket sandwiches that are shaped like half-moons instead of circles, you'll need to cut the bread before inserting the ingredients. Simply cut a round or square piece of bread into a circle, add the desired ingredients to one side, and fold the other side over.
