  • Dishwasher Safe

    The mats are dishwasher safe.

  • Reduce Clean up

You can reduce clean up time.

  • Nothing Sticks

The Copper Chef Grill / Bake Mats have a chef-grade nonstick coating so nothing will stick to it.

  • 600 Degrees

These mats are heat proof up to six hundred degrees.

  • Even Heat Distribution

Copper Chef Grill / Bake Mats are state of the art insofar as they evenly distribute heat over the full surface. So you can cook things like BBQ meals and rest assured that everyone will get an even cooking each time. This makes it easier to time dinners and parties. What’s more, your grill stays clean, without any mess.

  • Non-stick

These mats are professional grade non-stick surfaces so things like burned sauces or cheeses slide right off without sticking. You can grill or saute small, diced vegetables without worrying about them falling through. What’s more, the specialty sauces or marinades that you prepare will remain on the mat, continually soaked up by the foods you are making. This is a great alternative to regular situations where the sauces or marinades just drip off and smoke.

  • Professionally Endorsed

The Copper Chef Grill / Bake Mats are endorsed by Eric Theiss who is a professional chef. He has worked at the Culinary Renaissance before opening his own restaurant. Since then he has worked for many live shopping networks and sold a line of personal kitchen tools/cookware while simultaneously writing cookbooks and pamphlets on the subject of cooking.

  • Less Messy

When you use it, you can grill cheeseburgers and keep your grill spotless, free from melting cheese dripping, subsequently burning, onto the bottom of your grill. You can get perfect grill marks each time, and prepare fish that never sticks. Make vegetables grilled, complete with grill marks, but never worry about them falling through again.

  • Grill Marks

The Copper Chef Grill mats let you grill vegetables without them falling through the slots of a wire or mesh grill. This is important because most reusable pans meant for vegetables or for grills have air vents cut into them, made from aluminum. However, they alleviate any grill marks and do not really provide for a delicious grilled treat.

  • Chef Grade

The advertisement claims to be “Chef grade” for the non-stick coating, but this is not a legitimate grade. There is no such thing as “chef grade”. It is, instead, a term the company uses to describe something that could be used by chefs, but is not necessarily.

What does exist is the official “professional grade” and “commercial grade” but these are not the terms used. One has to question whether “chef grade” is meant to be either of these, or if the company is using a proprietary term to describe the non-stick coating. In either case the information is not provided.

  • Non-stick Issues

The non-stick quality associated with the Copper Chef Grill / Bake Mats means that it is coated with a version of polytetrafluoroethylene ( PTFE ). While it does offer great non-stick abilities, it also starts to deteriorate at around five hundred degrees. So if you do cook at the maximum of six hundred degrees allotted for this mat, you will degrade the non-stick qualities. Once compromised, the fumes exerted can be very dangerous when inhaled, so try to avoid maxing out the temperature.

Save Money

You save money in a variety of ways. The first of which is on food costs. When you are preparing foods at home, there is some degree of loss resulting from food falling, dripping, or burning. Using these mats alleviates this. What’s more, you save money on the cost of reusable or disposable aluminum grill pans that are a poor substitute.

Save Time

When you use the Copper Chef Grill / Bake Mats you save time with regard to the clean up process. Cleaning the inside of an oven or an outside grill is quite a hassle. You have to get special sprays or solutions, rags, and brushes. These have to be specific to the kitchen appliance too. It is also cumbersome, especially when foods like cheeses spill onto the base or a tray below and burn in place.

Most of the time you cannot remove the scalding hot cheese the minute you see it fall, so it is left to burn and harden. Once you are done cooking, you still have to let the oven or grill cool down before you can touch it, and often there is limited time after a late night meal to do this. Invariably, the burned food remains there overnight, forgotten until the next time you bake or grill, at which point it burns further filling the area with smoke.

  • Other Mats

There are many other grill mats out there, including the more popular as seen on TV options of the Yoshi Grill and Bake mats and the Miracle Grill Mat. These are similar in their design, offering much the same size, shape, temperature, and flexibility characteristics. Others which are not from the as seen on TV family can be purchased online or in stores for a cheaper price, especially without the shipping costs.

  • Grill Pans

There are specially designed grill pans and plates, which come in a variety of sizes. These are meant primarily for things like grilled vegetables in addition to grilled fish.

Made of aluminum, some of them are deep dish serving trays, things inside of which vegetables can go before tossed onto the grill. Others have slats or vents in the bottom and come in a variety of shapes/depths so that you can still circulate air underneath and get a more even cooking. However, none of these allow for the perfect grill marks and their materials can compromise the cooking process, adding time to how long it takes to prepare.

How to Use (Step by Step)

  1. Prepare

Prepare the foods you want to cook.

  2. Lay Out

Lay them out over the Copper Chef Grill / Bake Mats and cook or grill.

  3. Remove When Done

When done, just remove the mat and throw it in the dishwasher.

  4. Clean

Being reversible and reusable you just have to wipe it down and use it all over again.

I would also like to know the answer to this question and IF you can use them in the air-fryer, can/should you cut air holes in them to circulate the heat?

Tried these mats yesterday on my grill cooking burgers and the product failed miserably. They ended up scorched, burned, you can't clean them and they also ripped. I will avoid using this product, a costly waste of money.

Don't Claun-up

We used on our BBQ. Cooked a pork loin. The mat will not clean-up as advertised. Tried soaking in soapy water and used a nylon scrubber.

Fantasic Product

Okay, I wasn’t exactly sure how this review would go after reading some of the others! Well I followed the instructions that came with the mats, by first washing them with a mild soap (dish soap) and a soft cloth. Once I was ready to begin grilling I put the mats on the grill racks, and immediately placed the meats; pork chops, beef burgers, and chicken breast. The meats cooked evenly with no flare ups or overly charred surfaces, there were grill marks, not as pronounced as a bare grill rack but sufficient enough to recognize that it had been grilled. I also grilled my vegetables and wow, they turned out great! After I finished, the mats had some grease and burn marks, I removed them from the grill wipe them with a paper towel and place them in soapy water and with little effort on my part the mats were clean and looked like they had just been taken out of the box! I would buy this product again.

Food Sticks to Copper Mat

We used the copper mat for the first time. The food cooked easily, but the mat didn't come clean as promised. We scrubbed the mat and charred food remained. I will not purchase it again.
