Every Cargo Butler consists of a set of eight interlocking panels that are made from durable polyvinyl chloride (PVC). The idea behind this apparatus is that when you connect all the panels together, you'll be able to unload items from your half-ton truck more efficiently since the apparatus will smoothly slide. Each set of panels also comes with four walls that have been designed to help keep items from falling out of the truck bed, plus four plastic loops for bungee cords or rope.

How to Use (Step by Step)

  1. Assemble Panels

Once you have a Cargo Butler set, you'll have to connect the eight rectangular panel pieces together with the assistance of the included connector pieces. When assembled properly, the apparatus should look like a chart with two columns of four panels each. You'll also notice that each level has a hinge that will bend when necessary, allowing two adjacent panels to bend at the same time.

  2. Add Walls and Loops (optional)

It's not absolutely necessary that you use the included walls and loops, but it may be advantageous to you. If you decide to use them, you can connect them to any of the eight panels within your apparatus. The walls will stop loose items from rolling around your truck's bed or falling out of it, and the loops will allow you to tie down certain items with rope or bungee cords.

  3. Transfer to Truck Bed

After you've built your apparatus and have added the walls and loops that you want to use, pick up the apparatus so you can place it in your truck's bed. If you have an SUV, a minivan, or a cargo van, as opposed to a truck, the apparatus should also fit in its trunk.

  4. Load Apparatus

Next, once your Cargo Butler's sitting in the bed or trunk of your vehicle, fill it with the items that you need to transport, walling off or tying up items as needed. Keep the 500-pound weight limit of the apparatus in mind as you fill it up, and make sure none of the panels are hanging out of your vehicle before you drive away.

How It Works

Unloading the bed of a truck or the trunk of a van or SUV can be a pain since it often requires a person to clamber into the vehicle multiple times. However, your Cargo Butler will help you unload more efficiently since its material will slide smoothly along and it contains hinges. Once you unload items from the device's first two panels, you can slide it forward and access the next two, as the first set hinges over the edge of your trunk or bed. If you continue this process until you've unloaded all the panels and the last two are the only ones resting in your vehicle, you'll have accomplished your task without great physical strain.

Features

  • Durable, Smooth Material

Each Cargo Butler is made from rigid polyvinyl chloride, which means that each one may last you for several years or more. If you were to use cardboard in its place in your truck bed or trunk, the flimsier cardboard would probably just rip as you slid it along. Wood is durable like polyvinyl chloride is, but it won't slide as smoothly out of a bed or trunk as this material will.

  • Supports up to 500 Pounds

The Cargo Butler will support up to 500 pounds of items at once, so you'll likely be able to fill every panel with objects without overloading the apparatus and causing it to crack. If you've got some fairly heavy items (such as tools or appliances) loaded into it, and you're unsure whether it can stand any more, either weigh the objects or search for their weight online.

  • U-Shaped Walls

The tops of the walls that are included with each apparatus are U-shaped, which makes them a good place to hang bags if you're returning from a shopping trip or athletic excursion. Just be sure to hang only one bag from each side of each "U" so that you don't overload any single one. Depending on how your four walls are connected, you'll have space for at least eight hanging bags and as many as 16.

  • Storage Strap Included

When you're not using your Cargo Butler, you can detach the pieces from each other and stack the panels for storage purposes. To keep them all together and enable yourself to carry them under one arm, you'll be able to use the included black storage strap to tie them up in a stack. The walls can also be added to this type of stack, and you can even run the strap through the four bungee loops to carry and store them with the other pieces in your set.

Positive Points

  • Useful for Contractors

If you're a contractor who performs physical labor for clients, you probably find yourself loading and unloading your truck or van up to dozens of times per day. Aside from being physically strenuous, this can cause a person to get dirty and make clothing changes necessary. By using a Cargo Butler, though, you'll make each unloading job go more quickly and smoothly, and you'll likely remain clean enough to stay in one set of clothes throughout the day. Due to sliding this device along instead of lifting every item, there's a good chance you'll be less fatigued, too.

  • Great for Moving Lots of Gear

People who are moving from one residence to another or who have to transport lots of sporting gear or food can also benefit from using this type of apparatus. You can simply slide the device forward to access levels of items as you need them, and if you need to transport multiple loads, the empty device can remain in your truck or van. Moreover, with the Cargo Butler's paneled setup, you'll be able to clearly see all the objects you've loaded when you get to your destination, so you shouldn't have to search for anything.

  • Quick Cleaning Process

Whenever you need to clean your Cargo Butler, the cleaning process will be quick. All you'll need to do is grab your garden hose and spray each panel until it rinses clean. If you don't have a garden hose, you can wipe each panel down with a damp cloth instead. All the pieces can air-dry unless you need to use them immediately. In that case, dry them yourself with a cloth.

Negative Points

  • May Not Suit Small Cars

In its entirety, it's more than likely that a Cargo Butler will be too big to fit in the trunk of a small car. You may be able to use four or six panels at once in a small car's trunk, but you won't get full use of the device.

RIP OFF

I order this for my husband's Birthday on 1/25/2022 received a confirmation number and everything looked fine. Here it is 2/4/2021 no sign of the package. I called customer service (the guy from India named Alex) told me they canceled my order on 1/26/2022 due to backorder now they want 100.00 more for the same item
I have to check my credit card to make sure they did not charge me. Beware!
