Bullseye Thermometer is a hand-held thermometer that's been made to allow users to take another person's temperature without touching them. The idea is that you need to simply point the thermometer at someone's forehead while keeping it about an inch away, and the thermometer will read their body temperature for you. Each thermometer also has a built-in, color-coded alert system that's been designed to let you know whether a person's temperature is healthy, unsafe, or potentially unsafe.

How to Use (Step by Step)

  1. Point Thermometer at Forehead

To use this thermometer to take someone's temperature, hold the thermometer as if you're holding onto a water gun, and point it at the other person's forehead. Don't touch the person's forehead, though—instead, keep the thermometer approximately an inch away from their skin. If someone is highly uncomfortable with the forehead method, you can also take their temperature by aiming the device at one of their wrists, although you may get a more accurate reading from the forehead.

  2. Press Large Blue Button

Once you've pointed your Bullseye Thermometer at someone's forehead, press the large blue button on the handle and hold it down for about one second before releasing it. Following that, the device should give you an accurate reading of their temperature, and this will immediately show up on the device's digital display panel.

  3. Determine Level of Risk

After a particular temperature is recorded, the last thing you'll need to do is examine the color of your display panel's screen. If the screen is green, that indicates that the temperature is healthy, while yellow indicates a slight elevation, and red indicates a high temperature. You should be cautious about interacting with people whose temperatures correspond to a yellow or red screen, and a person whose temperature corresponds to a red screen may actually require medical attention.

  • Touchless

Since you'll never need to touch a person while taking their temperature with the Bullseye Thermometer, you won't run a high risk of catching a virus from them while you do so. Plus, the temperature-taking process won't be as uncomfortable for the other person as a standard thermometer that goes under the tongue can be, and you won't need to clean the thermometer after each reading. Instead, you'll be able to move directly onto the next person who needs their temperature taken (if there is one), as the only person touching the thermometer will be you.

  • Stores 25 Readings

This thermometer is capable of storing the last 25 readings it has taken, and you'll be able to use the buttons on the side of the device to cycle through these readings. Therefore, if you forget whether a particular person's temperature was healthy or not, or you want to compare a previous temperature to a current one, you'll be able to examine these recent results.

  • Ergonomic Handle

The handle of each of these thermometers appears to be ergonomic, as it has a size and shape that should be comfortable for the human hand to hold. As a result, you'll be unlikely to drop the thermometer while taking anyone's temperature, and even after several readings, it's unlikely that your dominant hand will get sore.

  • Clear Display

This thermometer's digital display consists of fairly large black numbers against a colored background, so even people with vision issues may not have trouble reading it. Furthermore, if you ever find that you can't read the numbers correctly, you can use the current color of the device's screen in order to evaluate someone's health.

  • Can Get One or Two

While you might choose to obtain a single one of these thermometers at once, you'll also have the option of getting two identical ones in a set. If you go with this option, you may want to keep one thermometer at home and store the other one in your car or at your workplace.

Positive Points

  • Ideal for Parents

This type of touchless thermometer is an ideal one for parents to have on hand since lots of kids will fuss when it comes to having a thermometer under their tongue or in their ear. With this thermometer, you'll be able to walk up and take your child's temperature before they even realize you're doing it. You'll even be able to take their temperature while they're sleeping face-up in bed, and unless they're a very light sleeper, they'll be unlikely to wake up as you do so.

  • Can be Helpful at Front Door

If you don't want to let a sick person inside your home through the front door, regardless of whether they're a repairman (or woman) or a friend, you can take their temperature. In the event that you get a green reading, you can allow them to enter, while a yellow or red reading may prompt you to tell them to come back another day.

  • Works for Liquids, Too

Aside from taking the temperature of humans, this thermometer will also take the temperature of liquids, including water and milk. Just be sure that you don't submerge the thermometer in the liquid as you take a reading, as these thermometers aren't waterproof. Along the same lines, if you think the liquid will splatter, hold your thermometer more than one inch above it before you take the liquid's temperature.

Negative Points

  • Larger Than Standard Devices

Although the Bullseye Thermometer isn't huge, by any means, it's a little bit larger than a standard thermometer that you'd place in the ear or in the mouth. Each one is about the same size as a glue gun that you'd use for crafting or a water gun that you'd play with outdoors. Consequently, it'll take up a bit more room in a purse, in a drawer, or in other storage spaces than a standard thermometer would.

  • Limited Battery Life

As this thermometer can't be plugged into electricity, it must be operated by battery, and like all batteries, the battery that comes within each one will have a limited life. Logically, the more often you use the thermometer, the quicker the battery will take to run out of power. It's not specified that the battery is rechargeable, so if you can't obtain a replacement on its own when it dies, you may have to obtain an entirely new device.

  • Don't Use on Animals

You should not use this device to take a non-human animal's temperature. The thermometer's infrared technology is safe for humans to be exposed to, but it's unclear whether it's safe for animals or not, so you shouldn't subject them to it. If you need to take a pet or farm animal's temperature, it's best to use a thermometer that's been designed specifically for their species or seek the help of a veterinarian.
