Positive Points

  • Reusable

The Bruw Cold Coffee system is eco-friendly, as it is made of ethically sourced materials and can be used over and over again.

  • Easy to Use

There are no hard-to-follow instructions for this handy system. It is easy to use and has a simple premise that can be figured out without the help of written instructions.

  • Versatile

The system can be used to create a great cup of cold brew using any kind of cold brew beans. Brew a cup of Starbucks, Kicking Horse, or Nabob whenever you want. You can even switch between brands, as the system isn't designed for use with a specific brand and will work with both cheap and expensive brands.

  • Easy to Store

The Bruw Cold Coffee is easy to tuck away when it's not being used. Since it is so small, it can be rinsed and tucked into a drawer or cupboard without taking up too much space.

  • Affordable

This handy kitchen device costs less than its competitors, coming in at a price point that is reasonable for both households on a budget and those that can afford to spend a bit more.

How to Use (Step by Step)

  1. Prepare

Start by filling your chosen mason jar with the coffee of your choice (somewhere between the 100 to 200ml lines). Then, fill the jar to the top with cold water and refrigerate for at least 8 hours.

  2. Attach Filter

Insert the Bruw filter into your mason jar with the straw pointing down into the jar. Place the second mason jar on top of the filter and twist to secure.

  3. Flip

Flip your jars so that the water seeps through the attached filter. Allow all of the liquid to drain through.

  4. Repeat

Flip the jars back over and remove the top jar and filter. Rinse the filter and repeat the cycle next time you want a refreshment.

Warnings

  • Choking Hazard

The removable straw can be a choking hazard for small children. It should not be played with or chewed on.

  • Messy

Using this product is convenient and easy, but it can also be messy. If the filter and top mason jar aren't on tight enough, the coffee can spill which can quickly become a slipping hazard.

Tips & Tricks

  1. Flavorful

If your Bruw cold brew isn't tasty enough or you want to try something new, consider adding flavored syrup into the mixture during the brewing process. A few great flavors to try include caramel and vanilla. You may also consider adding caramel or mocha drizzle over top of your brewed coffee.

How it's Different from Competitors

While there are a handful of cold brew filters on the market, the Bruw Cold Coffee is the only one that uses mason jars, making it both unique and earth-friendly. It's also more compact than most traditional cold brew filters.

Cons

  • Slow Brewing Time

Patience is a virtue when using this product as it requires a great number of hours in the refrigerator before being poured.

Features

  • Filter

The product features a reusable filter that effectively separates the coffee grounds and homemade coffee to ensure a grit-free cup of coffee.

  • Jars

The system can include additional mason jars should you be lacking them.

I like This Unit, Still Experimenting

So far I'm just using coffee we have on hand. Coarse ground at a neighborhood coffee shop, ground by blades, so there is a lot of small stuff in it as well. I have bought a small by-hand stone ground unit, when I buy berries I will grind my own, very coarse, I believe that will help. With my present system I have to shake the jar to get the liquid to drop through the filter, but trust me the fine gritted grounds settle to the bottom of the bottle rather quickly and stick together as a mass when you pour out the coffee, and the coffee tastes sweet. I use 1 filter and 4 bottles to keep myself supplied. I have shared it with friends and even snooty people who like spending lots of money agree the coffee is good, even if they won't buy a $20 system. Personally I have other things to do with my money.

Garbage. Threw in Trash

Cheaply made. Could have made this myself. Gets clogged fast and I have to filter coffee in multiple stages making a huge mess. Plus still, have coffee crud in my cold brew. All his little friends leave positive reviews that aren't correct.

Hey Charliedog,

Yes inexpensive to produce and inexpensive to purchase; you could have made it but you didn't. My first impression it would ber a huge mess but after making maybe 10 batches, I discovered there really isn't a mess! For $20 you can buy a hand-turned stone grinder at Amazon, set it for very coarse and there won't be "coffee crud" and the flavor will be better, I sampled this at a friend's house. You could take the stone grinder and this kit on a back packing or camping trip and have fabulous coffee. If I've ever meet you on the trail I'll offer you a cup. Cheers.
