The Braun Series 9 Shaver is an efficient electric razor for men that has what the manufacturer calls "responsive intelligence. " This means that it adjusts itself to each man's individual facial contours and features to give a closer shave than other models. The company suggests that the razor is especially good at shaving problem areas like the neck, jawline, and chin. Men can use this shaver with foam, gel, or in the shower. It comes with a cleaning and charging station and a carrying case.
The cost of Braun Series 9 Shaver is $369.95 and the shipping is FREE!

The Braun Series 9 Shaver has five synchronized shaving elements and two centralized trimmers which combine to give men a very close shave. These elements and trimmers learn the contours of each man`s face so they can get to the areas that other razors may miss.
There is a trimmer at the back of the razor that pops up when you want it and then conveniently tucks back in. This is a long hair trimmer and it`s supposed to be perfect for cutting your sideburns.
The shaver set comes with an efficient cleaning and charging station where men can rinse the razor after they shave and then place it back on the charger so it`s ready for the next use. This station includes a cartridge which has to be replaced once every 18 months. Note that it`s important to unplug the unit while changing the cartridge, for your own safety.
This product set also comes with a portable charger, which is useful when customers are traveling for a long or short period of time. Razors can be cleaned by running hot water over them, so you don`t have to take the cleaning unit on a trip. The charger, on the other hand, is necessary, so it`s a nice idea that the company included the portable unit.
There`s also a handy carrying case that comes along with the Braun Series 9 Shaver. It`s of course very useful for overnights or for travel.
The station has to be cleaned and refilled once a month. There is also an LED indicator on the base that flashes red when it`s time to clean it.
The head of the shaver makes a pivoting motion, which is meant to give men an even closer shave and reach problem spots and areas where hairs are hard to get.
The manufacturer claims that with this razor, men can shave to their satisfaction in five minutes or less. Men who have reviewed this product confirmed that they were able to get a close shave in five minutes or less.
The claim is that the razor can give you a closer shave than with any other razor. Men who have reviewed this product confirm that this is true. They say it did an excellent job of giving them a really good shave, better than other razors, and it even hit their problem areas.
Reviewers have reported that one strong benefit of the product is that the base doesn`t heat up while you`re using it. This is often a problem with electric razors; sometimes you have to stop in the middle of your shave to wait for them to cool down. The unit stays cool as a cucumber so you don`t have to risk burning yourself, and you won`t have to interrupt your shave to cool down the product.
This is a wet/dry razor, meaning you can run it under water or use it the shower, or use it dry. It can be used with either foam or gel.
The cleaning and charging unit has an LED monitor with an indicator light. Around once every month when the unit needs to be cleaned and refilled, the indicator light goes red. It`s a nice reminder, so you don`t have to keep track of when you last washed it.
One nice benefit of the product is that it`s two machines combined into one. The trimmer at the back that pops up means that you don`t have to get another tool to take care of your sideburns.
The price of the razor is fairly high, but the main point is that it`s a really big increase in price since the last model, the Series 7. Although this unit is clearly better than the last model, it`s not clear whether the improvement justifies the cost.
The trimmer is pretty flimsy, in reality, and probably won't go through much hair. You could only really use it to get rid of stray hairs.
The base is strong and it looks solid. It's very light and small enough to fit in your hand. However, if you look at it carefully you can see that it's made completely of plastic. Even the handle is plastic. It's is a very expensive unit to be made entirely of such cheap material. This is actually very unusual for Braun since they usually use high-quality materials, and at least some metal on most of their razors.
The cleaning unit seems like a great feature and generally speaking, that's true. One drawback, however, is that the cord is extremely short. You really have to pick an electrical outlet and put the unit next to it, because you can't move it much. This could certainly be an issue if next to the outlet is not where you wanted to put the cleaning unit.
The base of this model is largely made of chrome, and it very rapidly gets fingerprints all over it and looks ugly. There is a model that's black and would avoid this problem, but it's only available in Europe.
You can use foam or gel with this razor, but you can't use shaving cream. This is despite the fact that it's supposed to be a wet/dry product and you can use it in the shower. It really seems contradictory.
Despite a few small cons, this product really does work. Many male reviewers have testified to the fact that this is a terrific razor that gives them a very close shave, is smooth and efficient and saves them a lot of time. Some men were users of the previous model, the Series 7, and they said that the Series 9 model was much improved.
The majority of reviews of this razor have been very positive about its quality. Generally speaking, this item has been very well received by men. It seems to be an excellent product overall.

I purchased Braun's supposed top-of-the-line 9290cc shaver based on its good online reviews. It gave a great shave…when it worked. Unfortunately, the unit first required repair just as the 2-year warranty was about to expire. It's 3-years old now and I can only use it as a paperweight. Sadly, the company has poor customer support and refuses to stand behind its product. Braun’s local service center has estimated repair costs of $160 to replace the battery, circuit board, and stand (a lot of problems for a lightly used product!). I’m already into this shaver for over $300 and will not continue throwing good money after bad. For the expensive price tag, my expectations of a well-engineered and long-lasting product were not met. I am very disappointed and will not purchase again from Braun after this bad experience.

Bought two battery operated Tac Shavers and both failed right out of the box with brand new fully charged batteries. Called customer service and they sent me two replacements and they did not work either. Took all the shavers to a local repair shop and asked if they could tell me if I was doing anything wrong. After looking the shavers over and checking both my Ni-cad and Alkaline batteries as well, I was told that all four shavers were not working either because of loose connections internally poor workmanship. Save your money and go to Amazon and buy a different brand. Bell&Howell doesn't stand for quality anymore!
