Bow Wow Brite is a dog leash that lights up at night so you can see well without a flashlight and keep yourself safe on dark streets while walking the dog. The red and white leash is 50 inches long, and it's made of durable nylon along with steel hardware, so it's unlikely that even the strongest dog will be able to damage it. It lights up by virtue of seven rechargeable LED lights, which are located along the length of the leash.
The cost of Bow Wow Brite is $14.99 and the shipping is FREE! This price was obtained from the As Seen on TV commercial page found at bowwowbrite.com; however, the company has since ceased selling Bow Wow Brite and has taken down the website. Bow Wow Brite may still be found for sale on Amazon or Ebay.
Before you start using your Bow Wow Brite, you'll need to attach the leash, as you would a standard leash, to your dog's collar or harness. It's compatible with virtually any harness or collar.
Once the leash is attached to your dog, you'll then need to choose between four illumination settings. You can move between these by quickly pressing a button located on the built-in battery pack, which you'll find near the leash's handle. If you're using the leash in the dark or at dusk, you can choose between blinking lights, fast-blinking lights, or continuous solid lights. During the daytime, you'll be able to simply leave the lights off.
After your leash has been lit up, you can safely proceed down any dark street or road you choose without worrying about tripping or being hit by a vehicle. As long as you've charged your leash's small battery pack recently, you won't need to worry about the LED lights burning out, since one charge will last for up to 30 days.
Each Bow Wow Brite leash comes in red and white, an attractive color combination that doesn't seem too masculine or too feminine for dogs of both genders to use.
Each leash is 50 inches long, so your dog won't feel like their movement is extremely restricted while they're being walked on one of them. However, the dog will never get so far away from you that it will be hard to keep an eye on them.
This leash is made of very durable nylon fabric, and each has a sturdy steel fastener on one end. Even if your dog is big and likes to yank on the leash and bite it during a walk, this material will likely be able to withstand the "abuse. " Consequently, your light-up leash may last for years without needing to be replaced.
The Bow Wow Brite lights up due to a compact battery pack that is built into the leash near its handle, and is barely wider than the leash itself, so the leash is fairly lightweight. You won't find much difference, if any at all, between its weight and the weight of a standard dog leash.
This leash's battery pack is to be charged with the USB-compatible charger included with the leash. You can either plug this charger into an ordinary electrical outlet, or into a digital device such as a laptop or tablet. Depending on how long your walks with your dog are, each charge will last for up to a month.
If you're a parent who worries about your child when they go for a walk with the dog at night, you'll feel much better about sending them off with this illuminated leash. The same goes for sending off anyone whom you tend to worry about, such as a senior with physical issues or a petite person in a crime-heavy neighborhood.
Regardless of your age or physical make-up, Bow Wow Brite will help keep you safe from motorists who may not be watching the side of the road closely as you walk your dog. It'll keep your dog safe, too, as a motorist will spot the leash's lights if the dog happens to run too close to the road.
If you like to take your cat ( or any other small animal, for that matter ) for a walk as you would a dog, this light-up leash will attach to a cat's collar, too. (However, with a cat, it may be best not to extend the leash to its full length of 50 inches, but to hold it back a bit instead).
While the red and white color combination that this leash comes in is attractive, owners of multiple dogs might prefer it to come in a few different shades instead. That way, it would be easier to identify each dog's particular leash. While some dogs might not care about using a certain leash, many can identify their own scent and prefer to use a leash that smells like themselves.
Some people choose to walk their dog at night with a flashlight, but to do so, you'll either need to find a way to attach it to your body or carry it in one hand. If you choose the latter option, you'll only have one hand free to control your dog, which could be an issue if your dog is fairly large and / or rowdy. Having your illumination built into your leash will be much more convenient.
