How to Use (Step by Step)

  1. Place Horses on Flat Surface

To get started with this set of sawhorses, open up each horse by pressing the quick-release button that you'll find on one side of each. Each button has the words "Try Me" written alongside it, and once you push it, the corresponding horse's legs will quickly fold out. Following that, make sure all four legs of each of your two sawhorses are resting on a flat and stable surface, such as a cement floor.

  2. Connect Sawhorses

Next, after your sawhorses are resting on a flat surface and are running parallel to each other, you'll notice that there are slots on both ends of each one. To connect the two in a secure manner, slide a couple of two-by-fours (or two-by-twos or two-by-10s) into the appropriate slots so that both two-by-fours are crossing the area between the two horses. The slots contain holes for short or long screws, so if you have those on hand, you'll be able to screw the boards into place in order to make the connection even more secure.

  3. Add More Boards (optional)

The top of each orange sawhorse has a textured area for objects to rest upon, but if you want to protect this top completely, you'll have the option of screwing another two-by-four onto it. That will allow the two-by-four to cover the entire top and keep it safe from any accidental scratches or dents.

  4. Place Plywood on Top

Before starting most projects that you may be using these sawhorses for, you'll want to place a thin sheet of plywood (or a similar type of wood) on top of both sawhorses. This sheet should be covering both sawhorses with just a little bit of wood sticking out over the edges on all sides. It'll act as a table for any wood, metal, tools, or other materials you'll need to work with to complete your chosen project that's related to carpentry, construction, or furniture repairs.

Putting Away Your Sawhorses

  1. Remove Plywood Sheet

When you've completed a project or need to put your sawhorses away for a while, you must first remove your plywood sheet from the workbench you created with the two horses.

  2. Unscrew Boards (if Applicable)

After you remove the plywood sheet, unscrew any boards that you screwed onto your sawhorses when you were setting up your workbench. If you slid two-by-fours or similarly sized boards into the appropriate slots without screwing them in, you should also remove them at this time.

  3. Release Legs and Store

With any boards that you added removed, it'll be time to press down on the labeled lever at the end of each horse in order to release the legs and allow them to fold up. When you're taking this action, it doesn't matter which horse or which end you decide to work with first. Once all four sets of legs are released, carry both of your sawhorses to a safe place for storage. This might be against the wall of your garage, in your truck, or in a closet that can accommodate their size.

  • Moderate Height

Every BORA Speedhorse Work Bench that's set up will have a moderate height since the two sawhorses that comprise it will both be about 30 inches (almost three feet) tall. If you're an adult of an average or close-to-average height, this should be a comfortable height for you to work with. You shouldn't feel like you're reaching up very high or stooping extremely low to work on projects with this workbench that you've created. However, if you want the workbench to be taller, you could always prop it up on sturdy cement or wooden blocks.

  • Tolerate Lots of Weight

Every one of these sawhorses has been designed to tolerate 1500 pounds of weight, provided that the weight is evenly distributed across the horse. That means when you're using two together as a workbench, that workbench will be able to accommodate up to 3000 pounds of material.

  • Durable Materials

All of these BORA sawhorses are made from heavy-duty metal, which means that they're durable and may last you for decades without getting damaged and becoming unable to do their job. Each one can also withstand being left out in the rain for days without rusting. Furthermore, while some sawhorses have a plastic handle that may break off easily, these sawhorses have handles that are built into the metal.

  • Bottom Racks Included

If you need extra shelves to hold slim boards or sheets of wood or metal, you'll be able to pull two metal levers on one side of each horse to create this. Once you pull the levers down, a narrow shelf will be created, and each one may also hold a pipe that you need to work with, depending on its width.

  • Come Fully Assembled

Your sawhorses will come fully assembled, so you won't have to use multiple tools to put them together. All you'll need are a pair of two-by-fours (or boards of a similar size) to connect the two and turn them into a full workbench. You may also opt to use a screwdriver and screws to secure the boards in place.

Positive Points

  • Ideal for Multi-site Users

The BORA Speedhorse Work Bench and the sawhorses that are part of it are an ideal choice for construction and carpentry employees who work at multiple sites. Since the sawhorses take only seconds to set up and take down, especially if you're an experienced laborer, you won't have a problem quickly moving on to your next site. On the other hand, if you were to use a different set of sawhorses, assembly and disassembly could take longer, which means you probably wouldn't be able to fit as many jobs into one day.

Critical Advice

Although a BORA Speedhorse Work Bench can hold up to 3000 pounds, they're not meant to hold the weight of a human body. With that in mind, neither you nor anyone else should be climbing up on top of these sawhorses or even sitting on them. Likewise, you should also avoid putting pressure on them by leaning on them when you're not working, as this can occasionally cause the leg-release levers to get bent out of shape.
