Bendies are cooking utensils with handles that will bend every which way without breaking. When you're able to bend the handles of your cooking tools, cooking will be easier on your wrists and you'll also be able to give yourself more control. These utensils come in sets of four that include two different spoons and two different flippers. Each tool in one of these sets will stay cool to the touch, and each is also dishwasher safe.
The cost of Bendies is $24.95 and the shipping is FREE!
All four of the Bendies cooking utensils have handles that will bend backwards, forwards and side to side without snapping. To give yourself more control as you're spooning or lifting food, you'll even be able to bend each into an L-shape or an S-shape if you choose. When you want to revert them to their original state, all you'll need to do is bend them back!
Besides being bendable, all handles on these utensils are coated with silicone, which makes them stay cool to the touch even after you've used them to cook hot dishes. That means you'll never burn your fingers on the handles of any of these, and you won't need to worry about any kids under your care doing so, either.
Once you're done using your Bendies for the time being, you won't need to hand-wash them, since they're safe to run through the dishwasher. Keep in mind that it's best to place them in the top rack as opposed to the bottom one.
The handles of all these utensils can be taken off quickly, so if taking the utensils apart will make them take up less space in your kitchen drawers, you may choose to do so. If you decide not to, you'll still be able to bend each handle against the rest of each utensil in order to save a bit of space.
All Bendies utensils are black with blue handles, so they'll likely resemble most of your other cooking tools and won't look out of place in your kitchen. The blue handles may also help you locate them quickly in a drawer full of items.
These cooking utensils will be especially beneficial to people who are suffering from hand or wrist injuries, or permanent or semi-permanent disabilities like carpal tunnel syndrome or arthritis. When you're able to bend a cooking utensil's handle any way you want to, instead of always keeping it straight, your hands and wrists will undergo less strain.
If you've got school-age kids who want to start being active in the kitchen, allowing them to use these utensils is a good way for them to start. The bendable nature of the utensils will allow them to get some things done, even if they don't have great hand-eye coordination yet, and the handles will never burn their hands. They can be proud of their kitchen creations, and you won't need to worry about burns, so it'll be a win-win situation for all.
Being bendable certainly doesn't mean that the handles of these utensils are also flimsy. In fact, they can support quite a bit of weight, such as that coming from a large piece of meat. Therefore, you won't be limited when it comes to the types of food you can prepare with them.
It would be nice if, along with the two spoons and two flippers, each Bendies set could contain a fork, too. Unfortunately, there's no fifth member of the set yet.
When you aren't using your Bendies, you'll have the option of bending their handles and hanging them from the handles of your pots. This will help you save space in your drawers if that's a problem for you, while keeping your utensils close at hand.
You can also curve the handles of these utensils and use them to lift hot pot lids, when needed, instead of always searching for a oven mitt or potholder.
