Bakey Bacon baking straws are silicone rods that you'll be able to wrap bacon around in order to create attractive and tasty bacon straws. Once cooked in the microwave or the oven, these straws can be eaten on their own or filled with various fillings such as cheese, mashed potatoes or sour cream. Each set includes six rods, along with three filling bags and a piping tool that'll help you add filling to your straws without making a mess.
The cost of Bakey Bacon is $14.99 plus $5.99 shipping. The special TV offer allows you to receive a second Bakey Bacon at the discounted price of only $9.99 for a total price of $30.97. This price was obtained from the As Seen on TV commercial page found at buybakeybacon.com; however, the company has since ceased selling Bakey Bacon and has taken down the website. Bakey Bacon may still be found for sale on Amazon or Ebay.
To begin using your Bakey Bacon rods, wrap a piece of bacon around each rod that you want to use. If one piece of bacon won't cover it, you may want to use two.
Once bacon is wrapped around all six rods or as many as you want to work with, cook the bacon on the rods in a microwave or oven. To determine how long to cook them for, consult the included Recipe Guide—it may take you less than two minutes!
Before you eat or fill your Bakey Bacon straws, you'll need to remember to pull the rods out. Do this fairly gently so you don't break your straws or alter their shape.
After you've removed all the rods, you'll have attractive-looking cylindrical bacon straws that you can either eat as is or fill with your chosen filling. To fill your straws, fill one of the included filling bags with your filling of choice and use the piping tool to help you transfer some filling to each straw. For assistance with this, consult your Recipe Guide.
Even the biggest bacon lover may get bored with the same old flat slices of bacon on their plate, but turning your bacon into straws with Bakey Bacon will making eating bacon more interesting. Your bacon straws will taste good when paired with eggs, potatoes, salads and more. You likely will be able to find a use for them within all three meals of the day.
If you want to impress your guests at a dinner party or special event while also delighting their taste buds, you won't need to hire a caterer, as your bacon straws'll likely do the trick. They'll look so professional when on a plate that people probably won't be able to tell that you made them in minutes at home.
True to their name, bacon straws made with Bakey Bacon baking rods can actually be used as real drinking straws. Kids may find it fun to drink their soda, juice, milk or water with one of them, as long as they don't mind a bit of a bacon flavor. Adults may be equally tickled to use them at a cocktail party. Keep in mind that they may leak a bit if the bacon wasn't wrapped super-tightly around the rods during the cooking process.
If you want some guidance as to what to fill your bacon straws with, or want to know how to make cool shapes with them, the included Recipe Guide will be a valuable resource. You'll even be able to find out how to pair your bacon with chocolate.
Since there are only six rods in each Bakey Bacon set, you'll only be able to cook six bacon straws at once, unless you have multiple sets. If you have just one set, and want to cook straws for a large number of hungry people, this could be an inconvenience.
In order to create bacon straws that look good and are the correct shape, you'll need to wrap bacon around your baking rods in an ideal manner ( tightly and evenly ). This may come easily to some people, but people who don't have great dexterity may struggle and end up with misshapen straws.

I've been looking for something like this! I did order one on Amazon and I have yet to leave a review there but I will say that it's really cool. I saw on the web that someone tried this with aluminum foil so I tried that and it stuck to the foil. Great for a Bloody Mary garnish!
