To get started with your Back Buddy, place it on the seat of your choice. This could be a seat in your home, one at your office or even one in your car or on a form of public transit. Regardless of where you're going to sit, the part of the cushion that has the largest hole (which can be used as a handle) should be facing forward. The edges of the cushion should also be pointing upward instead of downward. If the cushion's not positioned in this way, you might not get the full benefits it can provide.
Next, sit down on the cushion and feel your bottom sink into its soft gel infusions. After you sit, you can expect to be comfortable sitting on your cushion for at least a few hours or even a day. Immediately after you sit down, it'll begin to gently correct any postural issues you have.
When you're done using your cushion for the time being, simply stand up. You may find that the cushion helps you stand up more quickly than usual since the front edge may give you a bit of a lift. Depending on where you are, you can either leave the cushion where it is or stash it in a safe place. If you need to carry it somewhere, as mentioned, the hole on the front makes a great handle and has likely been included for that exact purpose.
When people sit down on a chair or on another seat without support, they tend to tilt their pelvis backward, which causes the spine to form a "C" shape. This can lead to disc compression and pain in the lower back. If you use your Back Buddy while you're sitting down, though, it'll gently guide your spine into an "S" shape by tilting your hips and pelvis slightly forward and cupping your bottom. With your spine in an "S" shape, it's unlikely that you'll experience any pain in your back, hips, or neck, even if you sit in the same seat all day long.
Each of these cushions comes in a shade of solid black, a shade that tends to appeal to people of various ages and genders.
The Back Buddy will support up to 300 pounds of weight. Since most human beings don't weigh more than 300 pounds, almost anyone will be able to use this cushion without squishing it as flat as a pancake and causing the gel inside to ooze out. Aside from adults of any age, it's also suitable for children to use.
This cushion doesn't weigh more than a couple of pounds, so you'll be able to grab it by its handle and carry it outside your home when necessary. You may want to take it to work or to places where the seats tend to be uncomfortable, like churches, waiting rooms or athletic fields. If you decide to transport it by vehicle, it won't take up more than two feet of space in your backseat or trunk.
If you only need one Back Buddy, you can obtain one on its own, but you'll also have the option of obtaining a set of two. You may want to leave one at work and the other at home, or offer the second cushion to a friend or family member who could use some help with their posture.
Driving is one of the activities during which a lot of people experience lower back pain, but luckily, the Back Buddy will fit comfortably on top of the driver's seat in nearly any vehicle. While it can provide relief during even the shortest of trips, it'll come in especially handy if you drive long distances for your job or spend tons of time ferrying kids around in the car. Aside from the driver's seat, you'll be able to use this cushion if you're sitting in the front passenger seat of a vehicle, and likely the backseat of most vehicles, too.
Since this cushion will improve your posture and thereby make you more comfortable as you work at a desk or table in any location, you may become more productive than you would be otherwise. You may finish your work more quickly than usual, and this might even lead to a promotion at your place of business (or more clients, if you're self-employed). In terms of your speed, the same thing goes if you're sitting down on your cushion to complete household-related tasks such as online banking or making a grocery list.
If you feel like the standard version of this cushion isn't quite soft enough, and you need extra support, there is a deluxe version available. The deluxe version is the same shape as the standard one and functions in the same way—the only difference is, this version is a bit thicker since it's filled with more gel.
For most users, this cushion will only extend up to the area around the tailbone. Therefore, if your postural issues lie more with your upper back than your lower back, this cushion may not be able to help you quite as much as it can help others. You may be better off with a cushion that rests against both the upper back and the lower back.
If one of these cushions is poked with a sharp object, a hole could develop and the gel infusions could seep out. Without the gel infusions, one of these cushions wouldn't be very comfortable to sit on. In order to help stop your cushion from suffering this fate, you'll need to keep it away from the claws of your household pets and any other sharp objects around your home.
You might spend tons of time going to chiropractic appointments to help treat your lower back pain or scanning the aisles of your local drugstore to find the right pain pill. However, you may not need to do either of these things any longer once you start using a Back Buddy cushion. The cushion may actually be able to relieve pain throughout your entire body by simply changing the position of your spine.
