The Atomic Beam Lantern is compact, durable and can be set up for use in just seconds, but it requires 3 AA batteries to run. Fortunately, you can now obtain heavy-duty Atomic Beam Batteries in a pack of 12, so you'll have some to put in your lantern along with a few to spare. These AA batteries are suitable for both the standard lantern with flat-panel LED lights, and the deluxe version that contains even brighter LED lights than the standard.
The cost of Atomic Beam Batteries is $7.99 plus $5.00 shipping, for a total price of $12.99.

The Atomic Beam Lantern, in either the standard or deluxe version, is able to provide you with more light than a standard flashlight, due to its flat-panel LED lights. Regular LED lights glow white, but aren't actually that bright, while the flat-panel variety can emit light that's able to be seen up to miles away. Due to its 360-degree design, each lantern will also emit this incredibly bright light in all directions, instead of just one at once.
Before you begin using your Atomic Beam Lantern, be sure that three of your Atomic Beam Batteries have been inserted in it. If you're not sure exactly where to put them, or what direction they should be facing in, consult your instruction manual.
Once your batteries are secure inside your lantern, pull up on the lantern's top, via the silver handles, to turn it on. You'll notice that the area surrounding the lantern immediately floods with 360 degrees of bright light.
When you're done using your lantern for the time being, simply push the top down to turn it off, and watch the light disappear as the lantern retracts back into its black casing. At this point, it's best to fold the silver handles flat against the case, too.
Both the Atomic Beam Lantern and the Atomic Beam Batteries are of a durable nature. The batteries are heavy-duty, so if you accidentally drop any, or any get bumped around in the back of a vehicle or somewhere else, this likely won't decrease their performance. When closed, the lantern rests securely in a military-grade protective case that will keep it safe from damage, even in harsh weather conditions. Whether open or closed, it's built to withstand falls from up to 50 feet.
This lantern's durability will make it last for years or even a lifetime without becoming unable to perform its role. Not only has it been constructed durably, with a protective case, its LED lights may be able to burn for a lifetime of use without burning out. This part will naturally depend on how often you use your lantern and how vigilant you are about turning it off when you're not using it.
The Atomic Beam Lantern is only a little bit bigger than a standard flashlight, regardless of whether you've got the standard or deluxe version, so you'll be able to bring it with you almost anywhere. It makes an ideal lantern for camping or the cottage, especially if you're planning on going out in some sort of water craft at night.
Besides its size, another reason this lantern is a good one for the cottage or a camping trip is its ability to withstand a variety of weather conditions, such as heavy rain. It should continue to light your way as usual, even as rain beats down on your head and heavy wind threatens to blow other items away.
Even though the Atomic Beam Batteries and the Atomic Beam lanterns that they're designed for use in are durable, it's best to insert your batteries while you're indoors, before you take your lantern outside. If you're planning on going far from home, and you've been using the same set of batteries for days, taking a couple of minutes to switch in a new set is a good idea, too.
