Alien Shield is a transparent tape with a waterproof design that's been made to seal leaks on virtually any surface, regardless of whether that surface is wet or dry. It's meant to be used on materials such as fabric, plastic, rubber, and even stone. You can get three rolls of this sticky adhesive at once, which will give you a total of 15 feet of tape. Each piece that you cut will be protected with white backing until you choose to peel it off.

How to Use (Step by Step)

  1. Cut a Piece of Tape

Once you've got a roll of Alien Shield tape in your possession, you can get started by cutting a piece of the desired size. The size you choose will depend on the size of the leak that you want to seal. Regardless of the length you choose, your piece of tape will be more than an inch wide, unless you cut it down again so that it's slimmer.

  2. Peel Off Backing

After you've cut a piece of tape, you'll need to peel off the white plastic backing in order to reveal the sticky adhesive underneath. The backing will no longer be useful after this, so it's best to dispose of it immediately.

  3. Seal Crack With Tape

Next, place your piece of tape over your chosen leak or crack in order to seal it off. If you find that you need more than one piece of tape, you can repeat the first and second steps above in order to provide yourself with some more. The tape should cling instantly to the surface that you add it to, but you can help it along by patting it with your fingers to further improve the seal.

  4. Store Roll of Tape

When you're done using your Alien Tape, it's best to store it in a small space, such as a cabinet, a drawer, or your glove compartment, where it can stay cool and dry. If it does accidentally get exposed to water while you're not using it, though, this likely won't permanently damage the roll.

Features

  • Compact Rolls

Although each roll of Alien Tape will contain a few feet of the adhesive, each roll's diameter is only about the same size as a hockey puck. Therefore, you'll be able to store your rolls in small spaces and carry one in a backpack or bag if you think you'll need to use it while you're on the go.

  • Waterproof

Alien Shield adhesive is waterproof, which means it'll stand up to water-based elements like rain, sleet, and snow if you use it to seal a leak outdoors. Even if you add it to an object while the object is wet or submerged in water, this shouldn't interfere with its ability to stick to the object's surface effectively. This makes it a good type of adhesive to use if you need to seal a leak in a bathroom or in or around a swimming pool.

  • Transparent

Some heavy-duty types of tape that you can use to repair leaks and cracks come in black or shades of gray. That means other people will be able to clearly see that you've performed a repair unless the object you repaired is black or gray itself. On the other hand, Alien Shield adhesive is more discreet, due to its transparent nature. Even if you use a piece of this tape to repair a clear object, you'll have to look super-closely in order to see exactly where the tape is.

  • Customizable

Along the same lines, some adhesive patches for leaks come in predetermined sizes, but with this tape, you'll be able to choose the length of each piece. If necessary, you'll also be able to cut any piece down the middle to make it less wide.

  • Sets of Three Rolls

In each set of adhesive rolls, you'll receive three identical rolls, which will give you a total of 15 feet of this durable, waterproof tape. With three rolls, you'll likely have enough tape to complete at least several repairs, if not more.

Positive Points

  • Works Quickly

If you repair an indoor or outdoor leak with glue, liquid rubber, or another type of liquid sealant, you'll have to wait for at least a few minutes for it to dry. With some sealants, you might have to wait for hours. Fortunately, if you use Alien Shield adhesive, your waiting time will be cut down to seconds. As soon as you press this adhesive onto a surface that needs to be sealed, the seal should immediately take hold, allowing you to walk away without worrying that the crack will open up again.

  • Sticks to Rough Surfaces

Some types of adhesive won't stick to rough surfaces, such as textured stone, but this particular type will stick to those surfaces effectively. As a result, if you've got decorative stone objects or pieces of furniture in your yard with holes or cracks in them, you'll be able to use this adhesive to repair them.

  • Limits Need for Plumber

When a pipe in your bathroom or kitchen starts to leak, your first instinct might be to phone a plumber in order to get them to help you plug the hole. Once you've got some Alien Shield on hand, though, you may no longer need your plumber's services. Instead, you'll be able to cut a piece of tape off one roll and wrap it around the leak, where it should stick securely, even if your pipe's outer surface isn't totally smooth.

  • Promotes Boat Safety

Motorized and non-motorized boats with even tiny holes in their exterior can be unsafe for people to use, especially if they fill up quickly with water. However, if you patch any hole in your motorized or non-motorized watercraft with Alien Shield, you won't have to be concerned about the boat flooding and possibly sinking. The tape will securely patch the hole so that no water gets in and you can use the boat as you normally would.

Save Money

Garden hoses will commonly rip and start to leak, even if they're only a few years old. If you don't have a durable adhesive like Alien Shield around the house, you might be tempted to replace your hose each time it rips, but that won't be necessary once you have this adhesive. When you notice a leak, you can simply wrap a piece of this clear tape around the leaky area, and the hose should function as if it were new again. The color of the outer shell also won't be ruined by the addition of a piece of opaque tape.

Warnings

  • Don't Use on Windshield

While Alien Shield can be used to repair an incredibly wide variety of things, you shouldn't use it to repair your car's windshield if it cracks. You should instead get the windshield professionally repaired, as adhesive tape could obstruct your view of the road, depending on its placement.
