5second Button will attach virtually any button to almost any piece of clothing, without the use of a needle or thread. It locks each button into place with a tiny silver fastener that you must load into this small device. The device is compatible with buttons that have two or four holes, and can be used on a variety of fabrics, from delicate silk to thick denim. Each one comes with a finger-safe cylinder that will protect the finger that you use to hold your garment in place as you add a button. With each device, you'll also get 10 white, 10 black, and 10 clear buttons.
With 5Second Button, you'll be able to quickly re-attach or replace buttons that have fallen off various items of clothing, even if you don't know how to sew. Due to its ergonomic design that'll enable you to grip it firmly without straining your hand, the device is ideal for seniors with stiff joints, and teens who lack skill with a needle and thread. Men who have an aversion to sewing may also enjoy using it, and start fixing their own buttons instead of looking for help. Besides using it to replace buttons that have fallen off, you can also use 5Second Button to move a button on a garment that's just a little too tight.
The cost of 5second Button is $10.00 plus $4.95 shipping. The special TV offer allows you to receive a second 5second Button by paying the extra shipping fee of $4.95 for a total price of $19.9. This price was obtained from the As Seen on TV commercial page which was taken offline due to 5second Button being discontinued. 5second Button may still be found for sale on Amazon or Ebay.
Load one fastener into your 5Second Button, in accordance with the device's instructions.
At this point, you should see two small spokes poking out of the end of your device. Slide these two spokes through your button's holes.
Hold your device with the attached button against the place on your garment to which you want to add the button. Press the silver button on the top of the device so that it slides forward, and again so it slides backward and releases the device from the garment. After this release, you should see that the garment has acquired a securely attached button. Note: If your button has four holes instead of two, you'll need to repeat this step to install another fastener in the other two holes.
5Second Button works on most fabrics, so regardless of whether you need to add or move a button on a delicate sheer top or a thick pair of pants, you likely won't have any problems.
Each device comes with 30 fasteners, enough for you to attach 30 two-hole buttons to virtually any garments you choose.
Unlike some stitches completed with standard thread, 5Second Button fasteners will not come undone when you put the garments you've used them on through your washer or dryer. They will also withstand trips to the dry cleaner's.
5Second Button is small enough to fit in a purse or another small bag, so you can carry it with you while you're on the go. Hence, you can use it to re-attach your own buttons, kids' buttons, and even your coworkers' buttons!
Just as your fasteners won't be damaged by being washed or dried by machine, you can freely iron garments that contain them without worrying about them falling out or losing their effectiveness.
When you use 5Second Button, you won't need to run the risk of accidentally pricking yourself with a needle. The device doesn't require thread for use, either, so you won't need to be concerned with keeping spools of various shades on hand.
As you install a fastener by using your 5Second Button, the fastener will mold to the button it's being attached to. This molding will make part of the fastener appear to be the same color as the button.
You don't need to put a lot of pressure on this device for it to work properly. If you're gentle with it, you'll never have to worry about it damaging your clothing.
If you've gained or lost weight, you can use 5Second Button to move buttons on your bottoms and tops to make them a bit larger or smaller. You can also use it to move buttons on hand-me-downs so that they'll fit the new person who's going to be wearing them better.
While most teens will be able to use this device without having any issues, don't let small children use it. The process of use may be too complicated for them to understand, and inaccurate use may result in a finger injury.
