After you apply this compound to a surface by squeezing it out of one end of your applicator, you'll need to use the UV light on the other end to fuse it to another surface. When you hold two surfaces together and go over them with the UV light, while holding the light a few millimeters away, the light will cause the surfaces to permanently bond.
Prepare two objects that you want to fuse together, such as the stem and bowl of a wine glass, or two pieces of a plastic toy, by applying 5 Second Fix to one or both.
Hold your two objects together at the point where you want them to bond. You may need to place the objects on a flat surface in front of you, or get someone else to help you hold them firmly.
Turn your application device upside down and pass the UV light over the area in which you want to create a permanent, adhesive-like bond. Hold the light close to the objects, but make sure you don't allow it to touch them.
After you've passed the UV light over your objects, the two surfaces that have been treated with 5 Second Fix should bond together in five seconds or less. Following that, you'll be able to use your newly-bonded single item as one normally would without it splitting back into two.
5 Second Fix comes in a compact applicator that is about the size of a permanent marker and can be held in the same way as you apply the compound and use the UV light. Due to this fairly small size, you'll be able to carry the applicator from room to room or even outside the home without difficulty.
Anything that you treat with this compound is both sandable and paintable, so using it won't affect the ways in which you are able to decorate your home or the objects within it. Furthermore, since the compound is flexible when dry, you'll be able to bend objects that you've treated with it, such as interactive toys or the arms of your glasses.
5 Second Fix comes out of its applicator in a clear shade, and remains clear when it dries. Hence, after you've successfully fixed something with it, that object won't look any different than before it was broken.
Besides being a great choice when you need to fix household objects, 5 Second Fix also makes a wonderful bonding agent for crafters. By using it, you'll speed up the crafting process and be able to complete more pieces in less time, due to the rapid rate at which the compound dries.
This compound won't create a bond unless you've treated it with your UV light, so before you activate that light, you can reposition the surfaces you want to connect many times without them sticking together.
There's a chance the UV light on your applicator will burn out before you've used all of the liquid plastic inside the applicator. If this occurs, you'll need to either obtain a separate UV light ( which you likely won't be able to attach to the applicator ), or get a whole new applicator.
