237 Votes

Zip Sox are socks that look like stockings. The Zip Sox are used to relieve swollen ankles, hurting calves, and legs that are in pain. The secret is the nylon and spandex design, which gives legs room to breathe. The Zip Sox have openings for your toes, meaning that they will not get swollen after a day of walking or a day of work. The Zip Sox are nude colored, meaning that they blend well, and they can be worn over any shoe. The zipper also allows you to easily slip your legs inside and keep them circulated once they zip up.

The Claim

The commercial claims that it’s good for people who have swollen ankles, painful calves, and hurting legs. The socks are said to relieve pain, especially from walking all day, by compressing your legs and increasing leg circulation. The socks are toeless, which means that your feet won’t swell. The socks are described as revolutionary and can not be noticed by anyone because of their nude color. Another claimed secret is their nylon and spandex blend, which means they can be worn over by any shoe. The socks say that they can give your legs energy and restore your pep.

Total Cost Breakdown

The cost of Zip Sox is $12.99 plus $6.99 shipping. The special TV offer allows you to receive a second Zip Sox by paying the extra shipping fee of $6.99 for a total price of $26.97.

How It Works

Zip Sox are compression socks for both men and women. They help relieve stiffness, swelling and pain in the ankles and legs, including pain arising from varicose veins. Once you zip the socks on, they apply continuous, gentle pressure to the affected areas, allowing blood, oxygen and any nutrients within your body to flow more efficiently. In turn, this efficient flow leads to a reduction in any pain, stiffness, and / or swelling that is present. Therefore, you will feel more energized as you go about the activities in your day, even if you have to spend hours standing.

Uses

  1. Work
  2. If you perform a job in which you must stand all day, it’s likely that your ankles and legs start hurting after a few hours, if not before. On the other hand, if you must sit all day to work, they may swell up. Fortunately, Zip Sox will obliterate either of these problems. They will fit in any shoe, so even if you wear high heels or steel-toed boots, you can have them on underneath.

  3. Driving
  4. During long car trips, your feet and legs may swell due to being in the same position for so long, or they may start to ache due to constantly having to push the brake or gas pedal. If you wear Zip Sox while you’re on the road, they will reduce these effects.

  5. Exercise
  6. Zip Sox will easily fit in sneakers, so you can wear them while you’re doing any form of exercise. They’ll massage and soothe your feet so you can forget about the pain you may experience during an intense workout.

  7. Sleep
  8. Zip Sox are comfortable enough to wear when you’re sleeping. If you do so, you are likely to wake up in the morning with less swelling and pain in your legs and ankles than you would normally experience.

Positive Points

  • Fit All Feet
  • The Zip Sox are stretchy due their spandex content, and come in two sizes, small / medium and large/extra large, so they will fit virtually any size of foot.

  • Pinch-resistant Zipper
  • The zipper that runs up the leg of each sock has been made according to a pinch-resistant design. Therefore, there’s little chance that you’ll accidentally zip your skin when you zip your Zip Sox on.

  • Machine Washable
  • It’s easy to clean the Zip Sox, since they can simply be run through the washing machine along with the rest of your clothing.

  • Made Of Breathable Material
  • The nylon and spandex blend that the Zip Sox are made of is very breathable. This greatly reduces the risk that your feet will become overly sweaty on hot days, or when you’re exercising.

  • Come In Nude Or Black
  • These socks come in two shades, nude and black. The nude ones match most white skin tones, so if you are fair, most people won’t even notice that you’re wearing them if they poke out of your shoes.

  • Toeless
  • The Zip Sox are open-toed, so your toe movements will not be restricted at all. Plus, if your feet are a little long for the size you chose, you can just poke your toes a little further out the end of each sock.

How it’s Different from Competitors

Many types of compression socks are tight and hard to pull on, especially for those experiencing pain due to varicose veins. This actually defeats the purpose of wearing the socks, since one of the main reasons people wear them is to reduce pain. However, Zip Sox are stretchy and can be wholly or partially unzipped, so you won’t have to tug them nearly as much to get them over your feet and legs. Some types of compression socks have toes, so they don’t offer the freedom of movement that Zip Sox do, plus one particular size won’t fit as many different feet.

Okay Product

Bought 3 pairs of these socks. I purchased the largest size I am a woman with size 9w feet. So far they are okay but a bit of advice I have very skinny calves and ankles yet I had trouble closing and zipping up these socks so if your ankles and calves are a little larger you might want to just try buying one pair in case they don't fit.

Good Product

I also bought this product at a discounted price in Targets. I Decided to try these before ordering a more expensive "copper" leg sleeve. So far, I'm pleased. The calf and ankle support is excellent. Wearing them all day is not a problem. The zipper makes putting them on or taking them off easy and fast.

They Work

I actually purchased my pair from the Markdown section at Target. I had my doubts but tried them anyway and they worked. I recently started taking medicine for my blood pressure and my feet would swell. The swelling was embarrassing and I needed something to keep the swelling down. I am an extreme gym rat and on my feet a lot. This has helped.
