Cheaper Alternative Available

I bought mine for USD $15 when in NYC. Quite happy with it, works well with zucchini and carrots, not for potatoes though some reviewers had luck with that. The cute spirals were very watery, so had to squeeze before use. I use the veggie spirals in salads and stir frys. Anyway, for those living in Canada, there is a $3 version sold at Dollarama!

I found a very creative solution for the very small end piece that the Veggetti did not cut. I ate it, as I normally do! The Zucchini in olive oil and garlic was quick and easy to make. The taste was delicious! This thing is cool!

Very Disappointed

I wasted a whole day trying to shred potatoes for latkes and carrots for the recipe in the booklet. I ended up having to boil the potatoes first and resorted to cutting the boiled carrots into "coins" The carrot recipe with cranberries and honey was really good! Hope it works w zukes & other summer squash.

I Like It

I've been coveting a spiral veggie cutter for a while now, and found Veggetti on a K-Mart shelf. I have only tried it with squash thus far ( not potatoes ) but it is absolutely awesome. I used to spend three times as long shredding zucchini with a cheese grater, and now I can make a whole batch of zoodles in no time flat. Agreed - $15 is a tad steep for what it is - but it's a heckuva lot cheaper than some of the fancier spiral cutters out there. It will be a kitchen staple.

Love It

You can make very pretty dishes combining carrots, squash and zuchini. Healthy and easy to prepare. I love it! Before heating on the pan, combine spices for flavor like salt, pepper, garlic, cayenne pepper, and turmeric. Heat a pan with olive oil and butter and heat the veggies for about 10 minutes and serve hot with parmesan cheese or spagetti sauce.

Very limited usefulness, mainly Zucchini and Cucumber, nothing else worked thru the device. Lots of wasted end pieces as well. Not worth it to me.

Waste of Veggies and Money

This produst is so terrible that I can't believe I fell for it. Just look at the design. The shape is triangular and short so when the vegetable gets down to the rim, you can't spin it. The safety cap does not help as it it is flush with the top of the cone and doesn't touch the vegetable. Potaotes don't work at all. Only long items such as zucchini. Expect to waste the last 2-3 inches of veggie. Or better yet, throw the Veggetti out. That's what I did. Sorry I didn't save the receipt so I could return it to Bed Bath and Beyond. It is more garbage for our landfills.

All your comments are correct and truthful; however, I still like it because it can make good Zucchini pasta.

Veggetti

Purchased looking forward to using and very displeased with results. Vegetables need to be large in order to work. Worked okay with cucumber, had to cut last inch of cucumber by hand did not find an easy way to do carrots. Overall not happy with product.

I have something to say!

I'm here looking at my box of traditional semolina / durum flour Barilla brand Spagetti Rigati because some of the info in the review seemed questionable -- "Ordinary pasta has over 800 calories and 160 grams of carbohydrates per serving. " The nutritional facts on the Barilla box state that a one-pound box contains 8 servings of 2 ounces each, each serving has 200 calories, and 42 grams of carbs. So, one would have to eat four servings in order to add up to the 800 calories/160 g. Of carbs claimed by Veggetti. You can check my math but it is pretty simple and seems correct. Not that zucchini isn't excellent food and not that I wouldn't buy a Veggetti. Just wanted to set the record straight.

You're right on point Maureen. However, I believe the only error Veggetti made was in their wording. Most people ( read: most ) do not stop eating pasta at a single serving. They fill their plates, which could easily equal 4 servings - or more. For such people, a plate of pasta could easily equal 800 Cal / 160 G carbs in a meal. Have you ever measured a "serving" of pasta? It isn't much! But you're right on when you say their claim is incorrect.
