It is unisex. With a neutral color and exterior design, it is designed so men and women can enjoy it. Looking similar to a standard leather wallet, it blends in perfectly.
- Good Casing
The Power Plus wallet has a hard shell case which is a common design among RFID blocking wallets however it is a design that most people preferred. Aluminum wallets were great early on but they tend to damage anything else that you are carrying with you in your pockets for your purse. The hard shell case won't scratch anything else that you have while still being effective.
- Charges More Than One Phone
One of the nicer aspects to having the phone charger is not just that you have the phone charger built into your wallet. Realistically it is the fact that the phone charger can theoretically work on any number of cell phones. When you compare this to the few subcontracting wallets on the market today you will find that most of the existing competition is specifically designed for one cell phone type.
As such people who have different models or makes are out of luck. This remains one of the only chargers on the market that is used for more than one type of phone.
- Accordion Interior
The interior design is like an accordion and for some people this configuration is old-fashioned and not something they enjoy. However, other people find it to be much more accessible even if they once preferred the traditional two or three panel bifold that offered the separate money compartment.
- Battery Lifetime
One thing it doesn't tell you on the website is how you end up recharging the battery in the wallet. Reading the instructions you will see that the wallet contains a battery with enough juice to recharge your phone completely. This is great if your phone is completely dead and you want to bring it back to life entirely. Also great is if you want to simply recharge it a little bit at a time over the course of several days.
Nonetheless the one thing it doesn't tell you is whether you can recharge the battery in the wallet itself. Alternatively, whether the wallet only gives you one time to recharge your phone over the course of its lifetime.
Does It Really Work?
The RFID blocking technology brings up the topic that is still in debate. That topic is whether or not actual threats exist from people skimming your information through an RFID tag. Popular mechanics actually pointed out that outside of the laboratory environment they had never experienced anyone who had this issue in real life. As such the need for the RFID blocking case is debatable. However, whether or not the threat for skimming your data with an RFID tag actually exists, the wall itself still works quite well as a wallet, one which protects all of your contents. It also works well as recharging your phone on demand.
How it's Different from Competitors
A few years ago lots of marketers were heavily involved in the RFID blocking craze taking place online. Many people were worried about theft by individuals who could walk up with her cell phone and steal information using RFID chip. Of course RFID chips meant that you had been close proximate to the person. Naturally that only meant that if you had your wallet and your phone in your pocket or purse, someone standing next to you in line could steal that information. Steal it without ever having to go into your pocket or purse.
Such a particular design is very similar to all of the RFID blocking wallets on the market. With the key difference being the fact that it charges your cell phone too. Other units do not have this function. For individuals who use their phones regularly and are constantly in need of a charger and a charging source, this extra feature can in fact make all the difference. Especially when comparing RFID blocking wallets. Very few other items on the market offered the same ability to recharge your phone. Value of having extra battery power on hand cannot be overstated.
- Nomad Wallet
The nomad wallet is an example of a wallet charger without the RFID blocking ability. It has a built-in battery and lightning cable for the iPhone. Made out of leather it has eight card slots and is the traditional bifold wallet, only three quarters of an inch thick.
This makes it no thicker than the average wallet. The built-in battery gives a complete charge for the iPhone 6. This allows you to use your wallet as a charging Power source when you are out in the world with a low battery and you have nothing on your person except for your wallet.
High density lithium-ion battery does not take up a lot of space because it is simply located right in the centerfold of the wallet. Minimalist in its design the wallet looks exactly the same as any normal wallet and is impressively thin despite the features. Strong it is made out of a high crush strength aluminum casing with special high-strength polycarbonate end caps.
Of course the downside being that it does only meet with iPhone charging necessities. People who own other phones are out of luck.
