What is it?

The Hover Ball is a soccer ball that looks like it’s been cut in half, but can be used both indoors and outdoors, for the same activities you would use a full-size soccer ball for. It slides smoothly along tile, carpet, and wood flooring, as well as the grass outside. Even as it bounces off walls, pieces of furniture and your home’s baseboards, it will not do any damage to the furniture, the walls, or the flooring, and it will stay intact itself. The ball can be used by anyone of any age, both alone or in a group.

How does it work?

The Hover Ball is made with super slider technology that allows it to keep on sliding and sliding as you play, even as it goes around and under obstacles like chairs and couches. However, it can easily be stopped with a foot, if needed. The reason there is such a low risk of it causing damage in your home is that it is soft in nature. There are no batteries required to run this athletic toy—the only power you need will come from yourself.

How to use it:

There are quite a few uses for the Hover Ball. You can certainly use it to play a full soccer game, but if you feel like doing something more casual, you can try a simple contest to see how many goals each participant can score (you can also do this on your own). Any two objects can be used to create a goalpost, since the Hover Ball won’t damage them. The ball is also useful when you want to practice footwork, such as weaving around traffic cones. As mentioned, all of these activities can be done indoors or outdoors.

  • Can be used both indoors and outdoors
  • Good for solo or group use
  • Appropriate for adults or kids
  • Slides smoothly
  • Soft, so won’t easily break or scratch things in the home, or become damaged itself
  • Doesn’t require batteries
  • Able to be easily stopped with a foot when needed
  • Great for use at parties for kids
  • Makes a good gift

Why is it better than a standard soccer ball?

  1. Standard soccer balls are practically useless on days with bad weather, when people don’t want to go outside, since they can cause a lot of damage when used indoors, including broken windows. However, with the Hover Ball you can play indoors safely, and the risk of damage is extremely low.
  2. When kicked, this ball only slides along the ground, instead of rocketing into the air like a standard ball. Not only does this reduce the chances of it causing damage, it makes it safer for the youngest kids to play with, too.

The Hover Ball makes a great toy to entertain a child or group of kids with when it’s raining or snowing and they can’t play outside as usual. It is also great to use for activities at kids’ birthday parties or summer picnics, and makes a wonderful birthday gift, too. However, the ball is appropriate for adult soccer enthusiasts as well. Sometimes adult indoor sports get out of control, as participants kick and throw balls too high and break things, but with the Hover Ball, the game play is guaranteed to remain close to the ground.

Good Novelty

These have been out for years under a different name. I bought one about two or three years ago called Hover Soccer. It was a bit different of a design but the exact same concept. It worked quite well but like any other toys my kids grew tired of it and we sold it at a yard sale last summer. For $10.00 I'd recommend buying the Hover Ball, it's worth it.

Great For Kids

I highly recommend this ball for kids. I bought one for my grandchildren and its so nice to see them playing actively rather than sitting around playing video games. It was worth every penny!
