How to Use (Step by Step)
- Select Color and Surface
To begin using Flex Seal Color, select a surface that you want to repair or cover in a certain shade ( or both ). Then select the shade of the solution that you think would be best for the job. You may choose the shade that best matches the original color of the surface in question or decide to cover said surface in a totally new shade.
- Spray Flex Seal Color
Once you've picked a color, give the bottle of colored solution a little shake and hold it a half an inch to two inches from the surface that you want to coat. Spray the surface as many times as is needed to cover it as much as you want. Unless the surface you're dealing with is very large, one spray of solution will likely give you as much as you need to complete one job.
- Wait a Few Minutes
After you've sprayed solution on a surface, wait a few minutes for the solution to dry into a rubberized, watertight coating that could basically be described as rubberized paint. Once it has dried, you can then use the object you've coated as you normally would, even if the use of it often or always involves water.
Flex Seal Color will always remain flexible after drying, so if you use it on something you may need to bend, like a child's toy, you'll still be able to do so.
Since this rubberized substance is weather -resistant—it won't drip due to heat or peel due to cold—one coat will likely last you for years. You won't need to re-repair objects every few months or every couple of years as you might if you were to use glue for your home repairs.
Water won't break down the bond created by Flex Seal Color, so you'll be free to use it to repair and coat things that often get filled with water, such as bathtubs, pools, and pails. If you use it to fix your roof, this will prevent your roof from leaking during rainy weather, too.
- Reduces Vibrations, Noise
Another reason this substance is ideal for use on a roof is that it'll reduce the impact of vibrations and noise that may be coming in from outdoors. If you use it on a wall, you'll get the same result, and will even be able to block out noise and vibrations from other rooms. Wherever you are, you'll end up with more peace while you do indoor activities.
- Helps Prevent Corrosion
Metal will often corrode and rust over time, especially if exposed to a variety of outdoor conditions, but fortunately, Flex Seal Color helps protect objects from corrosion. By using this substance, you'll increase the chances that the metal objects around your home will look shiny and new for longer.
- Twelve Shades to Choose From
Instead of using the same shade of solution to repair and / or coat everything, you'll be able to choose from the three original shades mentioned above or select one of the newer shades. The newer shades include brown, almond, white, terra cotta, yellow, blue, red, silver, and green.
- Comes With Flex Shot
With each set of two cans of Flex Seal Color, you'll also get a small can of Flex Shot, a similar spray in white that'll help you complete home repairs involving caulking, bonding and sealing.
