How to Use (Step by Step)
- Slide on Clips
To attach your device to a door or window that's not made of metal, you'll need to slide two or three of the included grip clips onto the bottom of said door or window. For a wide door, you may want to use all three, but for a narrower window, you may be able to get by with two clips.
- Slip Defender on
Once you've installed your grip clips, you'll be able to simply slip your defender device onto the clips and it'll be ready to go. If you have a metal door and therefore haven't added clips, your job will be even simpler, as you'll be able to use the built-in magnet within your device to attach it to the door.
How It Works
If you have a door or window that's not protected by a Draft Defender, cold air will flow freely into your home while the warmer air inside flows freely out. However, when you add one of these devices, cold air will automatically be locked out of your home and warm air will stay in, keeping you feeling cozy instead of too cool.
Each defender device comes in a shade of brown that isn't gaudy and won't easily show dirt, should any happen to end up on your particular device.
- Weatherproof Sleeve
All Draft Defender devices are covered in a weatherproof outer sleeve that will prevent each device from getting wet and soggy when it rains or snows. That means that you won't have to frequently remove yours from a door or window and wring it out, as you may need to with other draft blockers.
- Built-in Magnet
This device's built-in magnet will be powerful enough to attach to any metal door ( or window ), even with the weatherproof sleeve covering it. Hence, you won't need to use your grip clips to attach yours to metal surfaces.
- Storage Hook
The Draft Defender also comes with a loop on one end that you can use to hang it on any hook for storage purposes when you're not using it.
- Fits Virtually Any Door/window
One of these devices will attach properly to any door or window, regardless of its size, as long as the door or window is straight at the base instead of curved. Therefore, you'll be able to move your device from area to area within your home if the need arises. Of course, if your home is very drafty, you could always get more than one draft stopper.
- Helps Keep You Warm in Bed
Drafts coming in through your bedroom window can make you chilly at night, but a Draft Defender will be able to block any of these window drafts, allowing you to have a better sleep.
- Blocks More Than Drafts
If you're tired of pesky bugs flooding into your home in the summer, or catching a whiff of your neighbor's cigarettes as they smoke outside, a Draft Defender will benefit you. Aside from drafts, this device will block out virtually anything else, including smells coming from your own yard or wayward particles of dust that fly through the air.
- Won't Disturb Carpet, Rugs
Some other draft-stopping devices may catch on a your carpet or your rugs, potentially ruining the carpet or making a rug bunch up in an unattractive manner. However, you won't need to worry about that when you use this particular one, as it'll glide smoothly along any rug or carpeted area when you open the door it's attached to.
Once you've attached a Draft Defender to one or more doors or windows in your home, you likely won't need to turn your heat up as high as you normally do in the winter. Instead, your home will be warmer and less drafty without the addition of as much ( if any ) extra heat.
