Total Cost Breakdown
- Mentally Stimulating
This fun dog has been positively reviewed by satisfied customers who enjoy the fact that they can turn on the toy and let their dog go at it. They do not have to spend a lot of their time trying to keep the dog mentally and physically stimulated. Puzzle toys that release treats seemingly at random like these give dogs a challenge.
- Teaching and Training Tool
You can teach your dog to play and exercise with a reward system.
The innovative dog toy turns on and off, giving off treats at the end as the toy is moved around. This means that dogs can utilize their hunting instincts and naturally benefit from the mental stimulation.
- Mentally Challenging
Traditionally, dogs, especially larger dogs, require a lot of activity. They need mental and physical challenges or they get bored. This is why interactive toys are best because they offer a way of playing that capitalizes on natural instincts for hunting and chasing. High energy dogs in particular lose interest once a toy is familiar to them. Static toys that do not move on their own and offer no puzzle or challenge are boring. With this toy, dogs push at it around the room searching for the way to get the treats out of the sides.
This toy looks like a normal bone but it will keep any dog entertain for hours. Your dog can hunt, push the toy around with its nose, and play in such a way that prevents them from leaping on or tearing at your furniture. Instead they get to run around the house or yard in search of the secret move that releases the food from the toy.
- Battery Operated
As a pet owner it can tiresome to try and keep active dogs entertained. Mentally stimulating games and toys still require your attendance in most cases which can be exhausting. This toy, however, gives you the option of just turning it on and watching your dog play. You do not have to be actively involved in the process of exercise or game playing. It functions as a wonderful complement to regular exercise.
- Good for Young Dogs
If you have a new puppy between twelve and sixteen weeks old it is important for them to use dog toys like the Bobo Bone because they need to chew on a variety of textures. They start to obtain their teeth once they reach four to eight months old, their permanent teeth that is. So they need lots of chewable toys at this point. Bobo Bone gives them something to chew, something to hunt, and something that keeps them active.
Seeing as it is battery powered, if you have a larger, stronger dog who manages to break through the toy, it might cause a health problem. What's more, if you have a particularly active dog they might use it more often than an older dog. This means you end up spending a lot more on batteries.
- Dog Treats
There are only certain dog treats you can put inside because of its shape. You might have to search for specific treats at the store to fit inside which can be expensive.
How it's Different from Competitors
This toy is comparable to squeak toys and food releasing puzzle toys. Squeak toys are a normal alternative, often in the shape of bones. Of course you can purchase them in a variety of other shapes too. They make noises when the dogs chew on them and can be tossed around the room for an interactive play time activity. The Kong is a similar toy insofar as its purpose. This toy is a rubber toy, one that is shaped similar to a snowman.
The toy provides value to pet owners because it can be filled with things like cheese or peanut butter, even dog treats. Similarly to this bone, the Kong is a toy that dogs can toss around, roll around, and otherwise hunt. Thanks to the hard rubber is does not get hurt. However, as it is moved around, there are various shapes and sizes inside which release the treats inside when the shapes line up. So dogs follow it around, hunt it, pounce on it, and chew it to get the treats out the same way they get the treats out of the bone. With Bobo Bone though, the toy is battery powered, so the dog doesn’t have to chase it or move it. Dogs watch as it moves on its own, then chase it to get the treats from the inside. .
How It Works
You take a dog treat and fill it into the side of the bone. There is a small dispensing section above which the on / off switch is located. You just press the button to turn on the battery powered unit then set it down. The ends of the bone functions like wheels so they roll the bone around the ground. You can watch as it rolls around along the floor, encouraging your dog to chase it in search of the treat. When the treats come out, you can always stop it and refill it, or let your dog continue without the reward for a while for training purposes. This is a great way to teach them certain skills and obedience lessons at home.
- Hide n Squeak
Hide N Squeak is a similar toy that offers dogs toys and treats, but instead of falling out of a bone shaped toy, they are hidden inside of the pouch of a large blanket. This machine washable toy is something that can be thrown, allowing the dogs to use their natural hunting instincts to find it and seek out the treasure inside.
