Features

  • Thin and Comfortable

Beddo by Sobakawa is one layer of foam mattress that contains billions of micro air pockets inside which give users relief from any pressure they might normally feel in bed. It also offers comfortable support to give users allegedly the best night sleep and full support from head to toe.

Beddo by Sobakawa is a ten inch thick mattress which claims to contain billions of comfort enhancing air capsules of microscopic size. These capsules are what give users relief from painful mattress pressure. They claim to use a proprietary pressure free foam system which dissipates body heat and offers motion transfer.

Pros

  • Easy to Clean

It doesn’t have to be turned over like other mattresses after regular use. Instead it can be cleaned if soiled with warm water and a mild detergent.

  • Comfortable

The level of comfort offered is enjoyed by some customers, but there is little detail as to what type of density is offered so it might not be comfortable for all users.

Cons

  • No Information on Foam

Traditionally foam mattresses rely on one or more foam types in order to fully support the system. The foam can be a visco elastic form which is known as memory foam. It can be latex, polyurethane, gel or some other material. Foam used in different mattresses is usually produced in different densities so you can choose from various levels of firmness, heat dissipation, or feel. One issue with the Beddo foam is that consumers are not told what type of foam it is. Instead, they are only told that it has microscopic air capsules. However, this is true of every type of memory foam so it really isn’t unique to the mattress world.

The company claims that special mattress used here dissipates heat, something that requires cooling gel beads inside in order to do.

  • Trial Purchase Only

The only way you can purchase the Beddo mattress is through their 30 day trial. You pay for the trial rate based on the size of the mattress. Twins are forty five for the first 30 days, full sizes are sixty five, queens are seventy five, and kings or higher are eighty five. At the end of these thirty days you are billed another nine times for that same monthly rate. So the total cost for the mattress is four hundred fifty for twins, six hundred and fifty for a full. It will be seven hundred fifty for a queen, and eight hundred and fifty for a king or higher. This price is about on point with similar mattresses. Alternatively, you are able to make a single lump sum payment in lieu of the first monthly trial cost if you want to cover the whole mattress cost at once.

  • Returns Are Pricey

There is a refund policy after the first thirty days if you are not happy with the product. However, you will not be able to compress it back to the size it was upon shipping. So, given that you are responsible for the shipping costs to return it, you might have to pay one hundred dollars or more to get the large mattress shipped back. If you opt to pay for the entire cost of the mattress in full for the first payment, rather than the thirty day trial cost, you still have this option. You can still return it for a full refund minus shipping and handling up to thirty days after purchase. Yet again, the same extra cost for shipping the mattress back will apply to you. Full in size and complete with air, the mattress will cost a great deal more to ship back when all is said and done.

How to Use (Step by Step)

  1. Unpack

Unpack the mattress. The air is removed from the mattress before shipping and wrapped in plastic. This is done so that when it arrives and is opened, it brings air back inside and returns to its natural size.

  2. Place it on Your Bed

Put it on your bed but make sure it is where you want it to be before you let it unfold.

  3. Watch it Grow

Watch as it grows to full size before your eyes. .Note that this is not a feature, the small size in which it arrives. It is merely a shipping measure, but will unfold to a fully sized non-portable mattress when opened.

  4. Sleep

Sleep and enjoy a great night’s sleep. Never flip or rotate it again.

Alternatives

  • Other Online Options

It seems likely that the mattress will work just fine and give users a good night of rest. However, there are still unanswered questions like what type of foam is used, what level of density does it have, does it dissipate body heat well, and how it compares to competing brands.

The price might be less than competitors by a short while, but a mattress is something that you will use every day for ( hopefully ) one third of your day. Without sufficient information or answers to your questions, it is not necessarily worth the investment (and potential return hassle) to invest without these answers.

There are many online mattress retailers online today which offer some of the same types of mattresses with a lot more information and they ship directly to you. Many of the most similar mattresses out there are designed for futons, or based on the traditional futon mattress designs. As such, they are a thinner mattress that can be easily folded and yet still offers the same lightweight for portability and comfort for a good night of rest.

Costs run about the same when you take into consideration the total cost of the various sizes for Beddo. They also provide detailed information on the type of foam used. Many do not unfold before your eyes. This means they do not have the air removed before they are shipped. The costs of returning the mattress are well known to you before you place your order. You might even find some mattress companies that cover the costs of returning your mattress under their warranty if you do not like it.
