This unit really functions like a real sparring partner, in situations where you do not have one.
- Maximizes Power
The system lets you maximize your punching power with anatomically correct pads that give you realistic form and function. Sturdy steel frames are designed to take a series of hard hits and punches. Patented design allows you to practice uppercuts, hooks, and strikes.
- Easy to Use
This unit is apparently quite fun and easy to learn. Basic moves, for those who don’t know, are explained in the instructional DVD. Soft pads help avoid injury. Interactive targets help teach even beginner boxers the proper form.
Resistance can be added to each workout as you improve, such that you get a full body workout in just twenty minutes. Said unit is a wonderful addition to regular workouts, or an alternative. No other product on the market lets you practice uppercuts like professionals, which makes this unit special.
- Cardio Intense
The style of fighting and boxing that is highlighted with the Body Action System is cardio-intense. This means that while not the main purpose, you will enjoy secondary benefits including regular cardio, some weight loss, and improvements to your health.
It is really expensive, especially if you want the additional features like the focus pads, weight bags, and gloves.
- Limited Workouts
With this unit you only get to practice boxing and martial arts techniques. So if you are only interested in improving these areas, then this machine is perfect. However, if you are interested in working out other areas of the body or other fighting styles, this is not going to work well.
How it's Different from Competitors
You get to train like Bas Rutten does. BAS has a head pad so that you can perform upper cuts and hooks with the correct body position. Also included in a Torso pad that has interactive targets so that you maintain proper form with your knees, elbows, and punches.
Deluxe models have the T-bars and Focus pads so that you can achieve advanced core workouts while practicing kicks and side-to-side striking. No other system allows for you to train on uppercuts, save this one.
With a heavy bag you get affordability. Shadow boxing you can use anywhere and it is affordable. To a lesser degree you might practice all angles, hooks, and uppercuts. Should you use a dummy it gives you targets and resistance while being affordable. Using pad systems offers padded surfaces while providing targets and resistance. EPD gives you padded surfaces while offering targets and resistance. BAS gives you all of these things in one. .
- Professional Opinions
The site has professional opinions about their experiences. Be advised that these professionals are giving their opinions about training with Bas in person, in his classes, not with this machine.
Does It Really Work?
Yes, this system really works. You get a chance to really practice as though you have a sparring partner, but without one. That said, you can do all of these exercises from the comfort of your home too. For professionals, this unit can be purchased as an additional piece of gym equipment for members at a reasonable price.
Of course, you must be advised that this system works insofar as it gives you a chance to practice serious boxing or MMA style fighting by yourself. It is not, however, meant as a fat burning or weight loss product. Rather, it is a tool you can use to enhance certain skills or learn a new fighting style.
- Things to Order
The site gives you a range of additional items to order, all of which complement the body action system.
There is a Thai workout video, an MMA workout video, a Boxing workout video, or a combination order that features all three videos. You can order the focus pads and T-bar as a bonus item, a weight bag for heavy hitting, or six weight bags for different weights. Striking gloves are available which wrap in a way that stabilizes the wrists and gives support to the fingers. .
How to Use (Step by Step)
- Warm up
Before you dive into the workouts described in each of the DVDs, you want to complete a brief warm up. In reality a proper warm up will not take more than a few minutes but doing a warm up can greatly reduce the stress your muscles and heart have to bear. The process of a warm-ups helps your body to start your activity at a slower pace rather than simply jumping into a high sprint or immediately setting out for a high-speed run. This reduces the intensity on your muscles. .
Stretching exercises should always be part of your regular routine even if they are explicitly mentioned in the DVD training.
It is best for you to do the stretches after your warm-up or after your cooldown. In both cases your muscles are already warm and ready to go.
Doing so can improve your flexibility in addition to your range of motion. Stretching also improves your performance. When you integrate stretching it is imperative that you never push yourself. You might start out relatively shallow and a stretch and by the end of one minute static hold exercises, you can find yourself going much deeper.
Follow the instructional videos, additional DVD's, or your own training program. Practice the moves you want, combinations, kicks, and more.
- Cool Down
Cooling down after you complete your routine helps your body to gradually recover back to the heart rate and blood pressure you had before you started exercising. This is incredibly important for athletes especially if you need competitive endurance because it will help you to better regulate your blood flow. Cooling down doesn't necessarily reduce soreness in your muscles but it will help you to prevent injuries and to improve your heart health.
